Jewel Match Solitaire X Collector's Edition

This is my favorite solitaire series, the Jewel Match games (they also have match 3). The quality of the levels, of the gameplay, of the graphics and music, everything is top-notch and has been carefully tested for bugs. If you are not familiar with this type of solitaire, often known as Tri-Towers or "up/down" solitaire, then this is basically how it works. You are given a display of cards in the middle of the screen and a deck down at the bottom. Click on the deck to get a new card, let's say it's a 5 (does not matter what suit). Then look at the display and see if you can match it with either a 4 (one step down) or a 6 (one step up). It may sound complicated but your brain will quickly adapt and you'll begin thinking up/down in no time. There are the usual barriers such as frozen cards that need to be matched twice. Locked areas that need a key, etc. The first focus is to uncover the gems that are under a stack of cards. Usually you can see parts of the gem peeking out from beneath the cards. After that the second focus is to clear the board so there are no cards left to match. You get rated in stars based on now much you are able to clear the board. Gold star is a complete clear, silver just a couple cards left, brozne more cards left, and then finally you can get no star. The stars are used as a sort of currency which is used to unlock bonus levels such as Mahjong, Supersized levels, levels with tasks to complete such as "play two hearts in a row", and others. There are a ton of bonus levels (3 of the achievements involve solving 60-80 levels of that type of bonus game) that could earn their spot as their own game. The "Collector's Edition" means that there is a bonus game once you finish the main game. It is just as long as the main game so you could think of this entire game consisting of 2 games in 1. What a deal. Add in all the bonus game levels and it's a real deal, then add in the solitaire variants that are unlocked during gameplay and it's a really really good deal! There are quite a few solitiare variants along with 6 popular ones: Klondike, Spider, Yukon, Pyramid, ...and I forget the other two. I've seen other games on Steam selling a game of a few solitaire variants whereas in this game you get them for free. What a bargain! Oh I forgot to mention that you use the gems to purchase parts of buildings that eventually form a nice scene like of a castle at the seaside. There are several scenes that you will unlock through the course of the game. Once a scene is completed it can be viewed separately without the HUD, and they can even been set as the wallpaper for your computer. All in all it's a must-buy if you like tri-towers type of solitaire.

Massive amount of content. I prefer playing the standard classic games, but story mode unlocks more styles. The extras quest line for balloons etc, requires playing 6 different styles, skippable with Joker cards, altogether too long for me. Still, for some Free Cell, Klondike and familiar styles of Solitaire/Patience, this will keep you entertained for weeks.

YOU DEFINITELY GET YOUR MONEY'S WORTH WITH JEWEL MATCH SOLITAIRE GAMES! In all honesty, I haven't finished playing the last two Solitaire games in this series. These games are massive and there is so much content that unless you play the game for hours every day, you're probably not going to finish one before the next game is released! I like the main solitaire games, but I love the supersized levels so I basically just play the main game so I can unlock the Challenge & Supersize levels...it would be super cool if they offered a smaller game with just Supersize & Challenge levels! I could care less about the other solitaire variations you unlock as you progress, and I hate Mahjong so I NEVER play those bonus games. They have added a few new features in the solitaire levels that have really made those levels challenging! There are Lock & Key Cards, Frozen Cards that require two Plays to remove them, Chained Cards that require Hammer Cards, Ribbon Cards that require Scissor Cards, Vined Cards that require Sickle Cards, Red & Black Sealed Cards or Suit Specific Cards that require removing Red and Black Suit Cards or cards in a specific Suit, such as Clubs, Hearts, Diamonds or Spades. They now have Up & Down Arrow Cards that change their value either up or down with every card removed from the board (tackle these asap!) Thorn Bushes grow & disappear for the specified number of plays (a #3 means you have to remove 3 cards before the obstacle disappears and it will reappear if not removed after 3 more cards are removed) Color Cards can mess you up or make it easier! They are similar to Jokers, a Heart Card can be played on a heart card on the deck pile which allows you to continue a chain at whichever card denomination you choose (There are Color Cards available for each suit) They have also added Bonus Cards that award you with Extra Cards (+3 +4 +5 extra deck cards) Some Cards contain Coins that can be used in the Shop to purchase Power-ups, Wildcards, or convenience features such as a Deck Card Counter~Earn Extra Gold~Remove a Random Card~Remove a Specific Card~Reveal some Face Down Cards~Extra Shuffle and Undo features~Card Specific Wildcards~Jokers, and the Chance to Receive Wildcards and Jokers during the Levels. As you progress, you can opt to participate in Quests that involve playing 3 different games, such as the Sliding Solitaire or a Challenge level. Terrible start to the game .I cant even get to run anymore,loads a bit and crashes.try what was suggested from the technical problem nothing work so as far as the game goes it pretty good,running the darn thing now that is where we don't want a game that always crashes,it just not fun.

Best solitaire game on Steam today, really enjoying. But wait for the next sale. You won't regret. The previous ones are also great, at a better price to start with. Go always for the collector's editions as they have a richer content.

There are a lot of extras, so you get a lot of content for your money, which is good. However, some of the achievements are tied to the extras and it can get a little tedious, be a bit of a grind. Still, it's a well made game, and they added some new card types to this one to mix things up a bit. I appreciated that.

As a 79 year old, I look for what I like in a game. I'ts got to be pleasant on the eye, quick to pick up and rewarding. This game offers all of that. But it's not a push over either.

The best yet. Will last me for months.

I'm a big fan of the Jewel Match Solitaire games overall. I haven't completed this one yet [I'm around level 250 at the moment] but it's already my favorite of the series. I've whizzed through several of the older games in the series with really no effort, but I'm finally finding some difficult levels starting to crop up past 200 in this one. Happy to have a real challenge this time. SO much to do--bonus solitaire variants you can play at ease once they're unlocked; mini games including solitaire and mahjong; beautiful art [as usual]; the unlockable decorations for your menu/background screens are really fun. Glad to see the Quest Jokers available in this one! In an older game or two, they didn't have those and some Quest levels were a struggle. The mini games are a great selection--I LOVE the Supersize and Challenge levels and would happily buy a game of nothing but those. The sliding levels are new to me and a clever idea! I always wait for a sale to buy these games, got this one for about $5 I believe, an amazing deal for so many hours of playtime! And the older games are even cheaper on sale, a couple of dollars or so.

this just doesn't get boring and it seems to have unlimited playing options in it's payways. at times i get a little frustrated but i just switch games for a little while and then back to the regular salt mines!
