I really am enjoying this game, and I do look forward to where the story goes. I'd specifically recommend it to anyone who likes gryphons. However, as I've not finished the game yet and it's far easier to point out faults than offer compliments, I'll start with the more negative aspects I've seen so far. Once I've finished the game and had a chance to think over the whole thing, I''l try to come back and offer more constructive criticism and positive opinions. It is very much an obvious indie game. Limited interactivity with the environment, NPCs teleport around instead of have animations, so forth. Nothing major, just signs that luxuries have been skipped over. Flight controls are not very responsive, and for a game that relies so much on flight that is a big issue. Flying through rings was not the part people loved about Superman 64, and it's done no better here. Admittedly I was using a keyboard and mouse, not a controller as the game seems very much in favour of, however the clumsy controls feel as though they would be there regardless of controller. The puzzles are a mix of simple and confusing, but once you understand what it wants you to do it is workable. The issue being that some of the instructions are so vague it's hard to tell exactly what you need to do, and if flight is involved in solving the puzzle prepare for a lengthy time just trying to get the character into the correct position. The lore of the game did leave me wanting to learn far more about the world than I currently have, and I do wish there were more opportunities to wander around and talk to the various characters and interact with the environment. Have some more chances to get to see the world we're protecting and learn about those who live there. I really do hope that this is a setting the developers explore more of and refine into a more polished experience. The story and world is colourful. and with just a few minor tweaks I feel as though this could really stand out among the fantasy genre.
