Learning can be boring and tedious but not if it is served as game

so far, really enjoying myself. i like the jrpg combat mechanics, they all help re-enforce what you're trying to learn. it's nice that you can go back and keep practicing things you've already beat. love the kana update. really helping my reading comprehension. totally recommend!

For a language learning game, it should have the voice.

The thing that's always tripped me up learning Japanese is the writing systems--with this, learning the language, the words, the grammar rendered in a way that is fun and that I can actually read, I'm picking it up much better. And then, since I understand the language better, my efforts to learn the writing systems by other means are going better too! It's also a cute, classic little rpg. I keep getting lost in the plot and forgetting what I'm supposed t be doing but tbh that's a me problem.

It's a fun way of learning Japanese, even though the game itself has some moments where it not clear what you need to do or where you need to go. But given that's it's primary focus is to teach Japanese, I'd say it's well worth the price.
