Before I played Jane The Reaper, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good

Warning: Asset Flip! "Jane The Reaper" is one of literally thousands of creatively bankrupt asset flips/kitbashes infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere.
This is a lazy Unreal Engine asset flip full of stolen/plagiarized game assets dropped on Unreal's Third Person brawler game blueprint. A strong accusation so here's an example of the stolen assets, the Avalon Suit which was not made by this "developer" but instead made by real developer, the McCarthy Bros. Control an anime girl asset and fight some other plagiarized assets from the developer who couldn't actually work out how to make a game out of other people's stuff, so abandoned it and walked away. Not before dumping it on Steam to try to get famous for the work of others, of course. There is no price tag, but you get what you pay for. When developers can't do their job properly and instead plagiarise the work of others, usually they also lack the technical skills to handle coding, optimization, or game design, or any of the other things real, competent game developers do. "Jane The Reaper" is proof of that. Asset flips never result in a high quality experience for gamers. The "developers" walked away from this 4 years and 3 months ago. This is never getting finished. This unfinished game is just polluting the store and making it harder for people to find real, actually finished games. This isn't good for gamers or for developers who do the right thing. You're forced to sign a highly questionable yet legally unenforceable End User License Agreement... for such a relatively low effort, low quality product, this comes across more as a delusion of grandeur than anything else. This agreement includes questionable requirements that may attempt to revoke consumer law protections that gamers expect to have, which is also highly problematic. Developers must learn they are here to serve gamers, not control them. I had my cat walk over the keyboard while the EULA was displaying, which fixed that problem for me. This game is fairly dated at 5 years old... and even back then it looked old and busted compared to contemporary, professionally made 3D games of the same period. It looked bad then, it looks worse now. Now on to pricing and value for gamers. This is "free" enough (not every "free" game in the "free" section is truly free, there's usually some hidden price tag), at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because something is free doesn't mean it's good, and the cost of a game is more than just financial, your time is valuable too. A peak of 2 concurrent players (according to SteamDB) for a "free" game is a disastrous public reception. Out of 130 million potential players here on Steam, almost nobody was interested. Even though this is "free". That level of rejection speaks a lot for the quality of the game. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Definitely not. No up front price, but I still feel ripped off. Finally, I'm here to help save gamers time by filtering out the noise and substandard games. If you don't agree with my assessment of the defects in this game, go ahead and download it... maybe you'll find the same defects to be as unacceptable as I did, maybe not. Even write your own review. Positive or negative, game reviews are here to help other gamers by informing their decisions on what to spend their time on.
