How far will you go to reunite with your lost daughter?
ItLivesInTheWoods is a first-person psychological horror game set in Canada in modern times.
Plot
You will experience a linear story that has multiple endings, with mystery and twists.
Everything was well before your daughter, Sarah, mysteriously disappeared in the forest during a hiking trip a month ago. You don't know what happened to your daughter or if she is still alive. You only know you want her back safely in your arms again.
The deeper you go into the forest, the more you will question what is real and what is not.
Environment
The game is developed with a sense of hyper-realism to create a visually stunning and memorable experience powered by Unreal Engine 5.
You will explore a rich procedurally generated forest where the more you explore, the more you will unearth the reality of your daughter. However, in doing so will also introduce you to certain evil, of which you must overcome to reunite with your daughter. Some things you encounter will seem surreal, and may actually be so.
Can you trust your eyes?
Gameplay
You will uncover minor puzzles and cues of which you must complete to understand your surroundings and progress in the game. Objects in the game are inspectable and/or interactable, where some will enrich the story with new information or backstory, and some will simulate the environment for realism.
Perhaps you will be face-to-face with an evil which will test your survival skills until either you are defeated or it.

IAM STRESS IDONT FIND A HIDDEN HOUSE KEY , YOU MAKE ME SSTRESSFULL
DO NOT BUY! The game is broken, there's a part where you find a key to get into the house and I can't use the key. I managed to do it the first time on some glass door, but I went to bed, and since there's no saves I had to start from the beginning. Now I have the key in my inventory but there's no option to use it. This Game has one of the worst inventory systems ever, you go in you're inventory and hope that the item you want to use has the 'Use' selection. If not, well nice try but restart the game and try again...
So far actually a fun cinematic game maybe needs a bit of optimisation but overall really good. Some good jumpscares
No way, asset flip at best.
It looks amazing, it plays well, need a fairly good rig to turn up the graphics or could use some optimization. I enjoyed the game, it is linear story driven with 2 endings. probably takes 30 mins to an hour to finish depending on how you do. I recommend it https://youtu.be/jr8W2fHF1zc
For a small indie creator's first-ever project, some of the harsh mixed reviews are unjustified. The game builds a deeply mysterious and scary atmosphere that successfully motivates you to push forward and uncover its secrets. The gameplay loop keeps you engaged despite the minimal guidance. The only notable issue at the moment is optimization, as performance taxes older GPUs heavily and causes frame drops. this is an indie title rather than a AAA game... players should not expect a next-generation horror experience, however, it delivers exceptional value for what it offers
Ambiance, sound and graphics are very good here. For example, at the very beginning with a good pair of headphones you'll hear the buzzing of a group of flies, a crow off in the distance followed by another bird chirping through the woods. The wind blows through the trees and you are wrapped up in the moment with realistic graphics feeling you truly are in the woods with just you and nature. The only thing missing is being able to feel the cold, morning dew and run your hand over a slick trunk or moss on the ground. For a game by a one person team they did a good job as their first project. There's some optimization issues that I'm sure will be worked out later but for me on a 4090 I played it all the way maxed at 4K and completed it. There's a few small bugs in the game but nothing that is a show stopper and are very minor. It's worth checking out if you want a little bit of horror and a game you can play through in one sitting.
Doch! Hi End PC ruckelt wie Sau! Game ist Schrott!
VERY GOOD GAME! Love how photo realistic the environment is. See my gameplay below https://youtu.be/nCqUVOSVBAM
