Worth all the praise. One thing I'll say, though, is that it's not quite as beginner-friendly as people make it out to be. If you're in a relationship with a non-gamer and you're thinking this might be the game that finally lures them in, I'm not going to say don't do it, but maybe keep your expectations in check and be mindful that it may not work. It's not particularly difficult, but the game does assume both players have at least a fair understanding of how to use a controller: handling movement and camera simultaneously, working buttons and triggers together, etc. It's not really a game where one player can carry the other. Progress requires both players to know what they're doing, especially during boss fights. If one person is mostly lost, you're going to get stuck. That said, that's also what makes the game so much fun. The fact that you both have to work together to progress means neither player can just sit back and let the other do everything. You have to pull your own weight. So if one of you has literally never held a game controller before, It Takes Two might not be the magical portal into gaming together you've been hoping for. Worth a shot, but be aware that you could easily end up giving up after an hour. So I ended up playing it with a mate and had a fantastic time. It was admittedly pretty funny having two dudes work through a married couple's divorce/reconciliation process together, but hey, who said men can't share their feelings. And let's face it, this isn't really a game you're playing for the story anyway. The whole divorce/reconciliation thing is a cute gimmick, but it's the gameplay that makes It Takes Two amazing. There's a ton of variety, and the constant need to cooperate in different ways just keeps things endlessly fun. Great game. Just maybe don't assume your non-gamer partner will magically become a gamer because it has a theme couples can relate to.
