Short game where you look for silly things. Unlike most comparable games in which you must find a specific animal, object, or something else, this game takes a different approach. What you're looking for are weird objects or situations that don't belong there. The game contains nine stages that depict a scene from New Zealand history and include a short description of the scene. Except for the first one, you unlock the rest by finding a required number of objects. You’ll have to find every object if you want to unlock everything, but the game is very easy so you can complete each stage on your first try. Since there’s no penalty for clicking on wrong spots, you can rush through the game in less than 30 minutes.
Love supporting NZ local game developers - quirky quick game with lots of kiwiana Easter eggs
Very cute little hidden objects game with a lot of detail and interesting facts included you can read. It's really short but also really cheap, and it's a fun thing to sit with for short bursts. It does need a bit more QOL updates as I would personally love to see some sound sliders and an exit game button added. Hope for more to come in the future :)
Short game but fun and has a lot of interesting facts to learn. Also it's cheap
Such a good idea with amazing hand-drawn graphics!
I bought the three Kooky games as a bundle, and this - the third - is, sadly, very disappointing in comparison to its predecessors. Like the first one, this is a casual game consisting of a number of doodle-style scenes, in which a specified number of "oddities" ("kookies") have to be found. But this game feels rushed and superficial, with very many of the "kookies" being so oversized or obvious against an under-detailed background, that there is little challenge in finding them. As a standalone game I cannot recommend this, and it is only as part of a discounted bundle that I would give it a very lukewarm recommendation.
I love this cute little game. I've enjoyed others in the "It's Kooky" series, but to me, this one stands out. There are many hidden objects games based on a certain setting - whether it be a city, country, planet, you name it. And while the artwork for these games often reflects aspects of that setting's culture and history, it's almost like you've got to know what you're looking for: I only know that's the Trevi Fountain because I know what the Trevi Fountain is and what it looks like. That's not the case in this game. It takes the opportunity to truly introduce you to the Land of Aotearoa. Here, you get scenes that feel meaningful. These maps have all been chosen because they're historically or culturally significant, and the game tells you when and why at the start of each map. It's just that touch that's hard to put into words, but to me says this game was made with a lot of care and love. Lastly, the technical: you can now exit a map, and re-enter later to continue where you left off. Love it. Sometimes I just need to come back with fresh eyes to find that last silly one! Do recommend!
