About
Isles of Yore is a multiplayer simulator that aims to make you experience what it was like to go through life as a prehistoric animal.

Claim your domain with an animal of your choosing in an environment that best suits your needs—dense jungle, treacherous swamps, and the wide open areas of the island all offer unique advantages and challenges.
Compete with other players and AI in a bid for supremacy and survival in the food chain.
Various carnivores and a herbivore character are available for play, with AI driven characters likewise inhabiting and stalking the land around you.
Future updates will extend this roster further, with larger animals and aquatic biomes planned.
The game's core centers around making you feel like your animal, putting you in full control and giving you a sense of what it was like for the animal when it roamed the Earth, growing and tending to its needs. Balancing thirst, hunger, and stamina are vital day-to-day concerns as you explore the rich environment around you alone or in a pack of friends.
While the main focus is on the immersive simulation, PvP elements with combat between players is available.
If there are no other players around you'll encounter AI animals on your journey, helpful considering our small community and true to the game's core focus of providing a simulation experience in a world that progresses without you.
If you're looking for a more laid back experience, Isles of Yore might be right up your alley.

The game includes a character customisation system, giving you creative control over aspects such as patterns, colouring, and skin types.
Spots or Stripes? Proto-feathers or scales? It's up to you.
A talent tree system also exists to further tailor your chosen animal to your liking, with options to specialise for the playstyle you prefer.

Explore a large, diverse island with its own day/night cycle and highly variable weather.
Fog, snow, and storms may reduce your vision as you navigate through the world, heat waves and cold spells may force you to take refuge in shelters.
The game features a variety of AI animals that can be found inhabiting the island.
Each species has its own own schedule and is trying to survive on the map just like you.
You'll run into migrating herbivores and hungry carnivores hunting for their meals—make sure you don't end up on the menu!
Younger animals can be found amongst the roaming packs and may present an opportune snack if you're quick enough to escape the adult's protective claws and fangs.
A big goal of the project is to further extend the AI systems and make the animals feel true to life with behaviour that uniquely suits them.
Documentation on server hosting is available, with a plethora of options available for server owners—gameplay parameters such as the speed at which your needs deplete, stats overrides, and many more are all available to tailor the experience to your community's liking.
⚠️ Please note that the server configuration system is currently going through a revamp, and some options have been deprecated for the time being (mainly weather changes, time of day progression, and control over the AI count). This is part of an ongoing effort to update these systems and make the core experience better.
Going at it alone is not required, as grouping and chatting (toggleable) with your friends is fully supported.
Isles of Yore is a passion project started from a place of admiration for the awe-inspiring history of life on our planet. The path forged by games in the survival genre offers a uniquely visceral, tantalising glimpse into this strange and wondrous past, and Yore intends to build on this formula with special care to highlight the uniqueness of the animals that came before us.
The game is being developed by a small team and is still going through its update cycle to expand and improve the experience.
Your feedback is most welcome in the Discord to help drive development.

Para el creador: Muchas gracias English: The graphics are the best I've seen in a dinosaur game (if you have a good graphics card). The map is very good; it's very large, and although there is an option in case the dino bugs out, it has only happened to me once (getting stuck inside a rock). There are few people on the servers, but the AI compensates quite well; plus, it's not their fault that people don't connect. The models are VERY realistic. Just like Saurian, this game is among the best I've played. Review update: 05/20/2025 They've made major improvements to the AI and other changes mentioned in my review. To the creator: Thank you very much.

Gra ma Potencjał :) przyjemna mapa obsadzona fajną grafiką i efektami natury... robi to robote... Jak mocno zmieszają Isles z Paf of T z The Isle to będzie się działo :) Wczesny dostęp... Głośna reklama i Gramy :)
this game so so bad if you buy it you will just throw 10 dollars to the trash the grafic wors than nokia's grafic and very bad optimetion this game trash
Pros: Good graphics, runs pretty well and I'm personally using a steamdeck, Dinosaurs are not (from my knowledge) store bought assets, though there isn't anything wrong with that in my opinion. Nesting is a thing in this game and is interactive. As a sarcosuchus I hunted two ai paras that were swimming in the air, which is no doubt a bug but it was a fun time. Cons: Said paras were inedible once they sunk into the water for some reason, even though they were completely unblocked. Skill tree does not work from my knowledge, and its bonuses dont seem to be significant seeing as most of them have to do with combat, which there is little of. The game does not compensate too well for this, as ai spawns are dynamic and you have to know where said spawns are if you want any real interaction. Only one herbivore. Most secondary and teritary abilities are kind of useless considering that ai is, again, very sparse and hence damage doesnt matter most of the time. The game is definitely good though if youre looking for a relaxed singleplayer experience, its just that it needs more time to bake.
Pas de joueurs, pas de tutoriels pour debuter, les couleurs pour les dinosaures ne sont pas réalistes, le gameplay pas terrible, très déçu
Played a large amount of time in The Isle and Beasts of Bermuda, the "grow a dino" genre and this is another entry. Being more like the isle then beasts of bermuda. This game has a load of potential, and I will be spending some hours in this. Unlike the aforementioned games, this one does not make the ecosystem an after thought. There are actually ai dinos and other creatures dynamically around the map. Even a solo player on an empty server can make a dinosaur and walk around the map and chill doing dinosaur things before getting eaten by a trex. Tracking prey. Travelling around. Getting bigger. Basking in the sun. Survival elements are genre standard hp, water, food, oxygen while adding temperature. Watch out for the hot springs! Dinosaur selection currently okay but leaves a lot to be desired with no fliers and one semi-aquatic. Top 3 things that need improvement: 1. Fliers- dev has stated they would like to work in aquatics first but the game is crying for fliers. 2. AI behavior. Currently quite basic, does things like move seemingly as a group, runs away, fights back and kill each other. But sometimes stand still, pathfinding issues, or react oddly. 3. Clipping. Clipping body parts into the ground. Clipping items that are grabbed. Clipping into terrain. Clipping is an issue. Some of it is a polish issue in animations and whatnot but it's critical to feeling and looking good. A large part of gameplay is chilling and deciding what to do next. Staring at your dino is part of that and clipping seriously detracts from that. All in all this will likely be my new dino game as a solo player of isle/beasts until I want to play a flier.
Not really fun. Have never seen anyone online in this game.
