About
Isles of Isvenness is a cozy creature-collecting idle game with free-floating island biomes that can be moved anywhere on your screen. Play as Kazu the adventurous doggo as you harness elemental aether, collect Aethlings, and complete missions and achievements while focusing on other things.
Summon, collect, and deploy your Aethlings across the islands to help gather elemental aether: Terra, Inferno, and Aqua. Level up your Aethlings to unlock additional mission abilities and grow your collection with new species and rarity forms. Participate in dynamic events that occur at random timepoints to accelerate aether gathering.
Build Aethling teams based on their abilities and send them on missions. Succeeding in missions grants you bonus aether!

I really wanted to like this game. It's a creature collector with cute critters and it's relaxed, but it feels unpolished, more like an early or alpha release than a finished game. 1. It's an overlay game that's supposed to play in the corner of your screen while you work, but the islands are too large to be unobtrusive, especially since you cannot toggle them to not be on top. Even if you make the islands invisible, the menus still overlay the lower right of the screen, which messes up my ability to use some of my other programs. You need to open the settings menu to even get to the island visibility toggle. 2. My screen resolution is 1920x1200. Yet the critters and islands still look pixelized. There's one critter, a tan dog, that is almost invisible on the desert island, yet you need to move that dog to the summon stone to acquire more critters. I spent way too much time hunting for it. 3. To progress in the game, you need to level up critters and form parties, in two different menus that don't interact, and the purposes or mechanisms for both I found unclear. For example, you can level a critter up to 20 by having it gather resources (and by acquiring more of that critter - apparently it absorbs its duplicates to increase health?) but the menu to identify gatherers has no indication of the critter level or health. In the level up menu, there is a yellow symbol that indicates a critter can level up, but it's almost invisible on yellow critters. To find out the critter's level, though, you need to click on it to open another window instead of having that information available at a glance from the main critter menu. 4. There's a quest/mission system to get more resources, but either the RNG hates me or the probabilities are off and since all I get are the same resources I could get letting the game run while at work, I stopped trying. There is also an achievement system - half the time I'd get an achievement without trying and periodically, I wouldn't understand what it wants. If I close the game and reopen it, the achievement counter erroneously sets to zero (for example, get 3 critters to level 5 and I close the game on 2, but when I level up the third after reopening it, the achievement activates). This game does have potential if you like collecting and watching cute critters, but as it is now, I do not recommend it, especially if you only have one screen.
