I've been having a lot of fun with inZOI. The first thing that stands out is how gorgeous the game looks. The graphics are seriously impressive, and the character creator is one of the best I've used in a life sim. You can spend hours just making your Zoi and decorating a house. The gameplay is pretty relaxing. Building relationships, finding a job, exploring the city, and just watching your Zoi go about their day is surprisingly entertaining. It definitely scratches that "make your own story" itch. It's not perfect, though. Since it's still growing, you'll run into some bugs and a few systems feel a little shallow compared to older life sims. Sometimes the AI does weird things, and after a while the gameplay can get a bit repetitive. But the developers have been updating it regularly, which is a good sign. Overall, if you're into life simulation games, I'd definitely recommend giving inZOI a shot. It already has a solid foundation, looks amazing, and has a lot of potential. I'm excited to see how much it improves over the next few updates.

A Conversion Story Let me preface this by saying I bought inZOI on day one of Early Access. I refunded it within two hours. However, I highly recommend this game now., so if you are interested in my journey keep reading. Otherwise, just know that if you haven't tried the game in a while, it may be worth to revisit it, because it has got so much better. A few months after my initial refund, curiosity got the better of me and I bought the game again. Things had improved and I could feel the effort but I still kept bouncing off it. The characters felt hollow. Everything was gorgeous but very surface-level, like something to be seen rather than played. So I sort of abandoned it again. Then came the May and June updates. I launched it on a whim and something had genuinely shifted. The animations are richer, interactions have weight, and the most important thing is the game now pushes back. I've had zois struggle to pay the bills. I've had unexpected accidents derail storylines and things happen that I didn't plan, and I have to adapt. The high school update in particular added a layer of social depth that made my households feel connected to a world rather than suspended in a void. inZOI is not finished, and it still shows in places. I'm particularly eager for the world editing update because honestly I prefer suburban worlds, rather than cities. But for the first time I can see where it's going, and I believe in that direction. So if you, like me, bounced off this early, it may be worth it to take another look too because it may surprise you.
