Interesting concept, but unlikeable characters and ultimately the story doesn't flow naturally. It isn't stated in the title or in the initial game description, but this is a demo, a proof of concept of the game.
It starts pretty good
In a world with human and faeries, there is also a subgroup of hybrids. The story follows Dawn, a hybrid. (faeries are humanoids with wings and a tail, hybrids only have a tail) The humans look down upon non-humans, in other words: discrimination. Dawn doesn't like that she has a tail, so she tries to hide it, and wishes to amputate it entirely. When she performs in an ice skating tournament, she sees a competitor with invisible faerie traits wins, while Dawns tucked in tail gets free and gets her disqualified.
And then it derails
Dawn then reacts unfair towards the winner, turns exactly into the reason she hides her tail. There is no justification for this self-struggle to be funnelled to others, and this makes her very unlikeable. Later on it turns out everyone is just not very bright. Like a friend of Dawns, at first she didn't want to help her find the winner because faeries are believed to be killers. But then she realises that she knows officials who can get an APB out for her! Really??? No.

More reviews at Omnivore Gamer, games that are easy to control (for handicapped gamers). https://youtu.be/eyYmKnl8NSc So you've read the description and now you're down here in the comments trying to figure out what's it all about. Click the video above to see some of the gameplay, mechanic and hear my thoughts on the game. Invisible Wings is a visual novel with wonderful graphics, great voice acting and decent music. This is a demo, as stated in the about section, so it plays quite fast and some of the story doesn't seem quite polished yet. There is an added element of click and point learning associated with it which adds a fresh and needed dimension that a lot of visual novels lack. So I will be interested in seeking the final product and finally learn the truth about faerie and human relations. I recommend that you download and play the demo for yourself, because you will become immersed in the story and be left wanting to know more....
I wrote a very long very nasty review of this product based on the fact that the store page does not label the product as a demo which is what it is you can find this out by looking at the game description I did enjoy reading it and as i said in my other review i have no idea why it got the LGBTQ tag as sexual orientation is not even mentioned or hinted at I will still however keep my review as being negative the game does not save almost every visual novel I have ever read has some sort of save function . this one does not it is because the store page does not label it as a demo and that there is no save function that i am giving this visual novel negative rating But at the same time i am looking forward to purchasing on steam the finished product
I like that there is voice acting, so its more fun than just reading the text.
Just finished trying this out! I was a bit sad it ended when I was actually getting into the story, but it's really good for a demo! I also love the voice-acting. Hope to see more of this!
Invisible Wings: Chapter One is not a game, it's an e-book that's been dumped on Steam masquerading as a game. As a visual/interactive novel, this doesn't feature any notable gameplay, it's just a lot of clicking through badly written dialogue that would never have been accepted or published in print, which poses the question, "How did something this badly written end up on Steam?". When someone hoping to become an author is unable to get published in print, they spend $100 and dump their high school fan-fiction onto Steam, under the guise of a game. This isn't even a complete E-book (which was supposed to be about what the author thinks fairies are), the "author" couldn't be bothered writing out the rest, presumably after they saw absolutely nobody reading through this advertisement. Adverts are bad, nobody likes them, but advertising products that don't even exist is even worse. Visual novels/e-books are tedious at best... imagine the best novel you ever read, be that Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Twilight (if you have terrible taste in literature), but then translate that to a format where the words dribble out and you have to click your mouse every time you wanted to read the next sentence, instead of just turning the pages. You'd think it was garbage. Now imagine that experience, but with much worse writing (because if these guys could write professionally, they'd be published authors and this would be on shelves in bookstores, and they wouldn't have to pay Valve $100 to self-publish this on Steam), and you have your average Steam e-book. One of the chief problems with failed authors polluting Steam with non-game E-books is that E-books can easily just be presented in a web browser... there's no justification for charging money on Steam for what might as well be a webpage. We don't spend thousands on buying a gaming rig to spend money on Steam for something Chrome or Firefox could do. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the e-book peaked at only 5 concurrent readers... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. The funny thing is, if you wanted to print this book, you'd only need to print 5 copies to satsify the entire world's demand for it. While this E-book is "free", you can get better quality, professionally written books and comics for free online (from places like Project Gutenberg) or from public libraries. Steam isn't a comic book store, neither is it Netflix, it's for games. Your gaming rig is not a Kindle. It's impossible for me to recommend things to PC gamers that aren't really games.
This has potential to be a good story,, cant wait to see the Full release. The characters are interesting, and the difference in story is obvious but all lead to one Very important point,, the demo ends not long after. Yes it ends leaving you wanting more, so That is a good sign.
I don't agree with the negative reviews. I think anyone who has faced any kind of oppression can understand the way Dawn feels towards Lilith, especially when Dawn later on basically spells it out. I am so so excited for the full game, and if there is a patreon/kickstarter, I would love to contribute. The voice acting is amazing, the art style is cute, the story is very interesting thus far, and I'm so so happy that there is a nuance instead of good guys vs bad guys.
