Un petit jeu chill, cosy et agréable, j'ai beaucoup aimé ! Le concept de "Instants" est vraiment génial. C'est parfait pour se détendre, sans se prendre la tête ! On incarne Maya, une jeune femme qui reçoit différentes lettres de sa famille ou de ses amis et qui, au fil du jeu, va composer des albums photos qui retracent les moments inoubliables de sa vie et de celle de ses proches, d'une génération à l'autre. On découvre alors son histoire personnelle ainsi que celle de ses grands-parents, de ses parents, de ses oncles, et même de ses amis, narrée à travers toutes ses photographies, où se dégagent des instants de bonheur, d'amour et d'amitié, de partage et de complicité, ainsi que des événements mémorables et festifs, le tout empreint d'émotions et de nostalgie. Les différentes bandes sonores du jeu sont vraiment plaisantes, le graphisme général est très "Mignon/Kawaii" et la narration est assez touchante. Dans l'ensemble, on s'attache facilement à la famille de Maya et on prend plaisir à reconstituer leurs souvenirs dans un ordre chronologique au fil des générations. Les puzzles pour rétablir l'ordre chronologique des photos sont simples, sans une "vraie" difficulté, mais parfaitement adaptés au concept de ce jeu qui est avant tout conçu pour se relaxer. En ce qui concerne la personnalisation des albums, il y a pas mal d'options en général, même si personnellement, j'aurais aimé avoir plus de contenu, notamment pour les stickers, les autocollants ou les palettes de couleurs. De plus, le jeu a malheureusement tendance à devenir répétitif sur le long terme. C'est pourquoi je pense que, bien qu'elle soit très courte (entre deux et cinq/six heures selon votre rythme), sa durée reste correcte, il n'en fallait pas plus ! Malgré tout, "Instants" est un jeu casual et créatif très captivant, qui peut être joué avec de jeunes enfants et qui propose une histoire familiale émouvante et réconfortante. Je le recommanderais (bien que le prix soit un peu élevé pour ce genre de gameplay) si vous cherchez un moment de pure détente lors d'un après-midi ou d'une soirée, autour d'une tasse de thé et de gâteaux :) !

Instants review 📷 Snaps and crafts 🔹 EXPECTATIONS: a decoration/scrapbooking game with a puzzle minigame. 🔹 REALITY: a small deduction game with decoration options. 🔶 Instants is a balanced mix of puzzle and decoration game with a wholesome story that glues everything, all in a family friendly and cosy setting. In each chapter, a friend or family member needs their photos of a cherished moment in their lives sorted. 🔸 Given the all-ages approach, the game doesn't seek to trick the player nor asks to come up with complex deductions, so the level of challenge is minimal for an adult. For the young ones, on the contrary, it might pose an engaging observation and timeline visualisation exercise. 🔸 That low difficulty level is also supported by some coloured arrows' assistance, that will indicate if the photos are in the correct order relative to each other (green), they are wrong (red) or there is something missing in between (orange). 🔸 Successfully sorting the photos will unlock the next story bit and grant the player two rewards: a generous set of stickers and washi tape to decorate the photo albums, and coins that can be spent to unlock cosmetics for the desk. 🔸 I came to the game to check the puzzle part and ended up enjoying it more than I thought I would. The puzzle part was way too simple, but as an adult I felt reflected by some of the moments and stories that the photos depict. The decoration part also allows for a wide range of modifications. 🔸 The biggest conflict I found is the clash between quality of life and physicality (or tactility). Some user interactions could be more streamlined and made simpler (less clicks), but as they are, they feel as if one was touching, grabbing, or handling the actual objects, photos and stickers. 🔸 Instants' package is completed with some nice lofi music, distinctive art and great sound effects. The result is a game that I specially recommend to those who enjoy scrapbooking, decorating planners and journaling. Dieses Spiel is super cozy und süß. Man kann sehr viel dekorieren und schön machen. Kann ich nur empfehlen!

In Instants, you create photo albums for Maya's family and friends. First you will have to sort the photos in chronological order then you can decorate the album with various scrapbooking tools. I liked the puzzle element of sorting the photos in chronological order, and there is a hint system with arrows between the photos that will show if they are in the correct order. I also like that you can be creative as you want with the photos by adding stickers, tape, and text and changing the background. Lastly, I liked the story of learning about Maya and her family through the albums. That said, it took me 2 and a half hours to play through all the chapters and complete all the Steam achievements. I do think the price is a little high considering my playtime. However, I did enjoy playing Instants, and I would recommend the game.

It’s a cozy, bite-sized journey through life’s memories—played like taming a scrapbook rather than reading one. Pros ✔️ Lovely story through pictures – No heavy reading, just arranging photos that show the story. I felt more connected pulling memories together visually than scanning text. ✔️ Relaxed, mellow ambiance – The lo-fi tunes, cozy desk setup, and gentle pace made it super soothing—just the sort of game to unwind with. ✔️ Tons of unlockables – I loved collecting stickers, food items, and tapes—each chapter rewarded me with more ways to express myself. Cons ❌ Chronological order feels finicky – If you center photos too tightly, the system didn’t always recognize them correctly, which got frustrating. ❌ Early decorating unlocks reduce fun later – Unlocking tools mid-story felt cool, but it spoiled the joy of decorating early on knowing the ideal item to decorate may be in a later chapter. ❌ Reading behind pictures is clunky – I wanted to peek at photo notes faster. Having to click multiple times felt tedious—I’d prefer quick taps instead. Conclusion I really fell for Instants’ gentle storytelling. There’s something alive in those scrapbook pages—it felt intimate and thoughtfully paced. Even when minor interface quirks got in the way, the warmth of each chapter pulled me through. I’d love to see more stories like this—simple, heartfelt, and driven by memory, not words.
