Inscryption

Interesting game, but you will die a lot on the 2nd boss if most of the time the lady luck for drawing cards is not on your side. I only had one good playthrough when I reached the 4th boss, all the other encounters, you get wiped out in the 2nd phase of the Angler once there are 4-hit 4-life sharks doing damage you can maybe sustain for a round or 2.

Non capita spesso di giocare a qualcosa che ti cambia il modo di guardare ai videogiochi, ma Inscryption è esattamente questo. Partiamo dal presupposto che non è solo un deck-builder: è un'esperienza stratificata, inquietante e incredibilmente profonda. Leshy, in particolare, è diventato uno dei miei personaggi preferiti di sempre; il suo carisma, la sua presenza scenica dietro quel tavolo da gioco e l'atmosfera che crea nel suo capanno sono magistrali. È un antagonista che ti attira a sé, rendendo ogni partita una sfida personale. Ma è il finale che mi ha colpito davvero. Non pensavo che un gioco di carte potesse scatenare una reazione simile, eppure mi sono ritrovato a piangere di fronte alla conclusione di questa storia. È un epilogo agrodolce, poetico e devastante, che chiude perfettamente il cerchio di un viaggio che non dimenticherò facilmente. Se amate i giochi che osano essere diversi, che vi sfidano e che vi lasciano un vuoto dentro una volta terminati, dovete assolutamente giocare a Inscryption. Preparate le lacrime, ne varrà la pena. bluescreened me after not playing for a while??

Due to its fame, I went in expecting to be impressed by how experimental it was or something like that... I was not prepared to be impressed by how FUN it was. Most, if not all, game design novelties are tied to fun twists to the gameplay. For me, that made it the most fun I ever had with a deckbuilder! Note - I'm no expert in deckbuilders. I've heard people saying it was too simple... but, for me, Inscryption ended up being the ideal level of complex. I got some powertrip rushes and never got stuck. It was a great experience, even though it was not a challenging one. 9.5/10
