«Infinitrap : Rehamstered»
This is one of those games where you will die a lot, but as soon as you die you will press the button for "one more run" and the next thing you see is that it's 4AM again and you forgot to sleep. It has tight controls, amazing level design and lovely art. I recommend this to anyone who loves puzzles and underground tombs.

Follow The Cpt Froggy Club Curator Page for plenty more!
Infinitrap: Rehamstered: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ladies and Gents, I would like to present to you one of the most daring and underrated adventurers of modern time. His name is Ohio Jack . . . Who!? Jack; Ohio Jack. For most of his life, he has been searching for the elusive “Cup of Eternity”; whoever drinks from this cup will live forevermore. Unfortunately for Ohio, he never seemed to pinpoint exactly where the cup was being kept . . . until today. The cup is in a dungeon somewhere under the city, but how far down? Based on his previous adventures, the further down one goes, the more danger will arise. So, let’s help this little fellow reach the Cup of Eternity in Infinitrap: Rehamstered. Infinitrap: Rehamstered is a challenging, top-down, fast-paced precision platformer developed and self-published by Shadebob Games on the 19th of January 2021 on the Steam platform. The game is also available on Xbox One. The main campaign consists of 30 levels, from what I can see. However, based on the information from the developer website, it seems to have another 5 levels. Unfortunately, I can’t confirm this, as I haven’t played them. There is also a fun and an easy level editor for creating your own dungeons and sharing them with other players. Three levels of difficulty are available in this game, which are Puzzle mode (easy), Vanilla mode (normal with a time limit) and Hardcore (difficult, time limit and instant death). Not only is Ohio Jack an underrated adventurer, but he is a bit of a comedian too, arriving in each level by falling nose first onto the floor (a bit like a famous English comedian who goes by the name of a vegetable). I must admit, I had a few laughs at the start, but it rather quickly evaporated has our little treasure-hunter moved further down into the dungeon. Most of the levels are fairly short. Before Ohio breaks his nose upon entering a new level, you’ll be shown, very briefly, where the cup is located within it. What you don’t know is how many rooms you’ll have to navigate through, and the obstacles therein. In my case, I played my first playthrough on the Vanilla mode, which also includes a timer that gives you just over three minutes to complete each of the stages. My first thought was that I would never need that much time, as the cup seemed to be close by. As you go along, you’ll find complex levels, and if you want to achieve a high score on the leader board, not only will you have to go as fast as you can, but you’ll have to pick up all the coins, and die a little as possible to achieve a high score. You don’t have to do that, but your stage score will be impacted. Dying is a common reccurrence in this game, and I am proud to announce that in one level, halfway through the game, Jack perished 68 times. I was not laughing at all; the little so-and-so deserved each of his nose fractures! Boy that was hard. So, what type of dreadful deaths should you expect? Falling down on spikes is one of the most common deaths, followed by taking a swim in a larva or acid bath, being squashed by a moving totem or boulder, being cut in half by large rotating blades or flying circular saws, being turned into a giant match by fireballs, being poisoned by darts, and oh - how can I forget . . . death by Zombies. Mind you, in some stages, it’s not that bad. For example, falling onto a spike trap, into lava or onto an acid tile will actually help you in your next run; wherever you died previously, your body will become a platform for you to traverse or land on during subsequent runs. I must say, this was very helpful in my glorious 68 deaths. There are other things that Ohio will find throughout the dungeons, such as vases that he can either pick up and throw at enemies or use to create a path that gets you safely through tiles of acid and larva. Some tiles are switches that can open secret rooms, but you’ll also find locked doors, and you’ll need keys to open them. Other nuisance obstacles that you’ll see right the way through include the trap floor that leads to a death by impaling and spider webs that slow Ohio down. If he has zombies on his tail, or a fast and sharp flying object approaching him, it can result in another death to add to your tally. There are egg timers that, when you pick them up, rewind 10 seconds on the clock. The tiles with four arrows on them will save your progress when you walk on them. Bear in mind that your little adventurer friend’s main abilities are to jump, crouch, slide and throw vases. What a powerful weapon a vase it (actually, it really could be if dropped from a second floor)! There is a humourous little story to light up your frustrated mood in some levels, which is fun. The graphics are good, and the controls are tight and responsive, which you need in this type of game. The addition of a level editor is great, not only for your own creation, but also for more replayability as you can share your dungeons with other players. A couple of odd things that I noticed. For example, you can only change the difficulties at the start of the level; quit and restart the level to take effect. There don’t seem to be too many people sharing their dungeons, which is a shame because it is a really good game. Positives: ~~~~~~~ + Good graphics + Campaign with 30 levels and a level editor + Challenging, fun and addictive + Steam cloud and partial control support + Ohio Jack is a cool dude who faces a staggering number of deaths + Achievements Negatives: ~~~~~~~~ - No trading cards as yet - Strange way to activate the difficulty options - Not many people creating/sharing dungeons Infinitrap: Rehamstered is a fast-paced precision platformer with a super cool dude who keeps dying! Remember his name . . . Ohio Jack! 8/10 Key provided by the developer/publisher for review purposes. Any opinions expressed are entirely my own! Criminally overlooked game. You have a speedrunner's paradise here with tight controls, clever hazards and speed mechanics - and it's just fun to play. You are navigating super deadly trapped-filled floors, you can jump, slide, and duck to avoid traps. There's other spins on things, such as your dead bodies will attach to spikes and become a platform, and other assorted remnants of previous runs are there until you complete the floor - it's a nice touch./ My only concern is there is no retry button, I want to do no-death runs - and this means I have to navigate to the main menu to restart it. Still in Early access, this can be added I'm sure.
Skill-based game with leaderboard. Basically you can slide, jump, open doors and use bombs to destroy walls, but you can use many other tricks to improve your score. It depends on the map. Has great replayability because of daily challenges and level editor. Has much potential because of more game modes if they want to add some.
Best yourself and others in this Great Adventure Game!
This is a frustrating yet addictive game. The good : fun, quick to learn, no time to waste, takes your attention off if you need a quick break and get killed like a million times. The bad : I found the controls on MacOS difficult because they interfered with my OS shortcuts. Not the dev.'s fault, but I found a quick fix in the settings. Summary: If you're looking to waste a few minutes without too many compromises, this is your game. There's a weird sense of pleasure that comes from dying over and over. I noticed that the first version of this game dates back to 2016. I think this version is way more polished and has come a long way.
From arrows to zombies, passing by fireballs and flying saw.. this game offers more ways to die than I first expected! A nice touch was done to the tile details, squishing spiders, bleeding zombies, crunched corpses and bones sticks around the dungeons as past mistakes piles up. The dynamics allows to quickly be back on your feet and push for another try making the grudge to finish a level just one more jump way. Despite the unforgiving surroundings, you can also find quick short-cuts, hidden traps, secret passages, devious loop holes, bombs, bosses, humor and a supporting plot layering your progression through challenges. The arcade like atmosphere, music and controls makes it very permissive to try things, figure your own ways to beat the levels whether you're the careful or freestyle kind!
This was a cool game, full of challenges, puzzle and zombies. This game was funny, and you alway's find new amazing way to die. It's the perfect game for killing time or to challenge your friends.
This is so cool, I'm having so much fun. Love the humor, love the graphics. The game is more serious than than I thought. I;m hooked I love it.
