This one had me on edge from first step out of the airlock. The limited supply / equipment space makes this challenging for a solo but I could see this being a lot of fun in multiplayer. There's a bunch of subtle behaviors in the environment (I'm guessing the behavior changes based on some near by objectives) and after a while I started to get a sense for what was going on and what to look out for... until I ran into some more spawns and I had to nope my way backwards. I guess don't ever get too comfortable! The limited tools / equipment slots and uncertainty around every corner forces some strategic decisions and risks but boring it is not! Really like it so far, can't wait to play more!
Runs poorly and very jank
When you get into it this game is fun. It's spooky alone. I personally like playing with 3-4 people. The maps are HUGE and its procedural. No mission has gone the same yet. I'd recommend reading the field guide, that had a lot of good information, especially about the tools I have not had any issues with performance overall. Some bugs still happen at mission end if anyone who isn't the host ends it, but it is easy enough to hop in. Love the look. Great atmosphere and creatures. Check out the experimental missions, the dopplegangers are creepy AF. Game is fun, game is creepy.
I'm having a lot of fun playing this with friends. I haven't tried the game solo yet, but the experience with 3-4 people has been really entertaining. The ship is procedurally generated, so no two missions are exactly the same. We've also encountered a pretty wide array of monsters, some which are easy to kill and some that force us to run and find alternative routes (or weapons. Seriously, the flamethrower is busted). The updates that have been coming out are also nice, especially the updates to the map. It has become much easier to find one another if we get lost exploring the ship, since it's pretty critical to stay together when possible to beat the mission. The game is in early access, so there are understandably features missing (a level-up system would be especially cool), but for the price it is definitely worth it in its current state. The multiple missions, monsters, and changing ship layouts make the replayability there in the meantime. I'd highly recommend this. My friends and I laughed when we first discovered traps that exploded and killed us immediately, and there are legitimately scary moments when you open a door to a grotesque monster that is hard to kill. If you're missing a good multiplayer PVE game with friends, pick this up.
Played a couple rounds with friends, was a little confusing at first, but a quick look at the field guide helped a ton. Being able to find better weapons in the wild is great, the flame thrower even with its limited fuel felt awesome to rip through a couple baddies with. It ran pretty smooth for me, but with an RTX 4070 that is not too surprising. The visuals were really sharp and the derelict space station vibe really hit a good spot between interesting and creepy. Props to the monster designs, they always seem to give me that uneasy feeling whenever they pop up, even if I'm not in immediate danger. Overall, for early access it was pretty fun and seems like it is in a good starting place. I can totally see this becoming even better with more time.
InfestStation turns out to be quite an ambitious take on the SciFi Co-op Survival Horror genre running on the most recent Unreal Engine (5.4) featuring cutting edge visuals and sound effects. The game offers plenty of graphical customization allowing players to tweak the game's performance according to their systems' processing power. Procedural generation is used to keep the level/mission design dynamic with everything properly replicated across the network. Hosting and Joining Multiplayer Sessions is a simple single click affair with the game menu visuals and soundscapes nicely complementing the moody horror atmosphere and lore of the game. InfestStation appears to be a true gem in this sub genre and I am looking forward to witness how far the Devs will take it in the coming future.
wtf? i dont even understand what the game wants me to do... no guide at all, random deaths, and if you die you become a robot that cannot do anything?! what? pls help me understand, i'd like to play this game
Very fun to play with your friends. Interesting game style by completing missions and fighting monsters. Graphics are great and will continue to get better and run smoother with updates. Perhaps there can be a story mode in the future you can play co-op.
I enjoyed the game! It requires a bit of teamwork and the map is huge! Be sure to read the instructions so you understand what to do (I think alot of people didn't so they didn't understand the game). Had a blast playing it and highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a fun horror coop game to play with friends.
The dev team has been really receptive to feedback and I have been loving the updates coming out. My friends and I have really been loving jumping into this when we have the time.
