"Indigo Loop" is, ugh. It took me a while to try to work out how to play this, because, well, I thought maybe there would be some personal reward for understanding a "new" type of game. And also, because the only other reviews for this are from joke/spam accounts that just post empty reviews or translate the developers own sales blurb into Turkish (yeah I don't know why that is supposed to help gamers to decide whether to download a game or not). And you as a gamer have a right to know why you and everyone else on Steam completely ignored this. Anyway, none of it was worthwhile. What do you do in the game? Yes, unlike every other review for this, and unlike even the developers own sales blurb, I can tell you what you do in the game. Here it is... are you ready? Sitting down? Actually it doesn't matter because this is so boring it won't shock anyone. There's a couple of game modes (just to make a pointless game pointlessly convoluted). All of them revolve around this premise: You are given a bunch of cards with integer values on them. Click on them as quick as you can to get them to add up to 15. Outside of some pointless complexities added, that's all there is to this. I have wasted my time, so you don't have to. The technical implementation here is as weak as the game design. This game features very lacklustre minimalist "art" for graphics instead of anything remotely contemporary.. it's really just a bunch of cards and some wallpaper behind it. The whole thing could have been done in a web browser. I'm sure the "developer" thought this would come across as "artistic", but it doesn't, it comes across as "really lazy". Yes, contemporary 3D graphics take a lot of time and effort to create. That doesn't mean it's okay not to bother! Developers must try to understand that gaming is a visual medium, and gamers spend a lot of money on high end gaming rigs for a reason. And that reason is not so they can look at lazy, phoned-in half efforts like this. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $2 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. It's also a bit of a slap in the face to anyone who paid money for this... nobody got refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 2 concurrent players... this is a dismal public reception. This was so bad they couldn't even give it away. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.
