I am an unabashed fan of Glitch Games and have been so since I first played Forever Lost almost 10 years ago. Simon and Graham consistently produce very clever, puzzle-based point-and-click games and Incoherence is another fun adventure in their line-up. Although this is a stand-alone game, those who have played previous Glitch titles will smile more often as familiar characters, phrases, and objects appear along your journey. You will have a sense of learning more about an old friend and prior games bring additional context to the current story. Incoherence is a series of escape the room vignettes, threaded together by a main character discovering his memories. The game introduces an interesting mechanic. It is broken into four sets of four rooms. You initially sequence these rooms however you see fit. Then, as you work through them, you discover items that may be needed in a room you have already been through. Since you can't move backwards, you proceed and create a path through the set. Upon your return to the central 'hub,' you can re-sequence the rooms within the set so that you reach the final door with everything required. Puzzle progress is retained and all you have to do on your second pass is pick up the items you need. Where Glitch shines is in their pun-filled dialog/comments and the variety of puzzles presented. Only one was a 'trial and error' exercise. All others are solved with find-and-use inventory and environmental clues which are usually in plain sight but not always obvious. If you do get stuck, they have a graduated hint system that helps get you back on track. As always, the Glitch camera is there to record clues. Your photos can be 'floated' on screen with the corresponding puzzle which eliminates some note taking. I am a bit old-school and still enjoy using the camera in combination with a pencil and paper. The game saves on exit and I never lost any progress. There are no Steam achievements but I find this leaves me free to focus on the game instead of letting my Type-A personality kick in and drive towards 100%. I thoroughly enjoyed Incoherence and highly recommend it to those who enjoy creative puzzles with a minimal story and a clever narrative. I also recommend that those who are not familiar with Glitch go back and play their earlier games!
The puzzles are fine but there's not much of a story line. If you like just playing puzzles the game is okay. I'd wait for it to go on sale I didn't think it was worth 4 bucks. It's a bit sleepy time.
Kolejna dobra gra od Glitch Games. Tym razem trafiamy do dziwnego pomieszczenia, w którym układamy na pulpitach cztery slajdy, na których są miejsca z wspomnień bohatera, tworząc wejście do pierwszego z nich. Tam rozwiązujemy łamigłówki, by zdobyć klucz do kolejnych drzwi z pozostałych trzech miejsc. Warto.
These are mini locked room puzzles strung together in units of four scenes. Once you complete a set you need to solve one further puzzle to move on to the next set. They are like your favorite snack food, having a nibble here and there as you enjoy the pleasing graphics. A solid hint system in case you get stumped moves you right along. Another small gem from Glitch games.
If you like point and click puzzle games, you will love Glitch games in general, but their products continue to be more polished and clever with each new game! Their themes of memories slash altered reality to explore backstories are great and are present in each game. This game adds an enjoyable twist of being able to progress as you see fit through different memories but in order to progress you have to determine the correct order. Puzzles are just right - not too easy, not maddeningly obscure - if something seems really hard, you are likely overthinking it (I'm looking at you, school letter puzzle!). Kudos to Glitch on the great effort! Love the game. Now feeling hungry for the next one!
I recommend all the Glitch games :-) Fun logic riddles, interesting plot, extraordinary ideas.
I've played all the previous Glitch games, albeit on Android, and being a huge fan was expecting great things. The game is typical Glitch with tricky puzzles and think out of the box clues. It is well worth the asking price and a guaranteed head scratcher. However, it felt like it didn't quite reach their previous high standards. It had very annoying text boxes that kept popping up saying "look at this, look at that", as if in a puzzle game you need prompting. Each room had only a few puzzles (and being point and click only a few places to look), good as they were it still seemed like the game was short on something. But It is still well worth playing as a classic in the genre (as all Glitch games are).
tldr: just want a gameplay video? its below the review Another wonderful puzzler game from the glitch games dev. Its roughly around a 3-4 hour journey full of observational puzzles that will test your deduction ability. With the hint system in the game you won't have to worry about looking up a guide if you get hard-stuck as the answers are all in game. I cannot stress enough how I like the camera and hint system design and it should be in more puzzler/deduction games. Sometimes you brain just won't click, ya know? The game takes you through four sections of four contained puzzle rooms, each unique and with their own special little puzzles to solve. Even the four room themselves hold a secret to progress. The games from this dev really are quite keen on your observation skills. Observe. Reflect. Solve. The answer is always provided around you, Some of the puzzles might even require you to do something first in order for the answer to be usable. I've played three of this developer's games and so far I have not been disappointed. In fact I don't think I've even seen the same puzzle used twice. If you like puzzle games that will test you without being vague in a bad way, then you'll love this; while some things might be vague you can always piece it together with a little critical thinking. No jumping to conclusions needed. Full Gameplay https://youtu.be/r7XB1AH_FEw
Interesting puzzles, not too difficult to get the hang of the game. Liked it!
MOST of the game is very enjoyable and the puzzles are logical and fun to solve (some easy and some hard). However just a 'couple' of them make absolutely no sense and are off the wall ridiculous. Now granted, for just a few bucks, who would complain. But look at it this way, if there was one little turd in a barrel of apple-juice, would you want to drink it...[;-D)
