About

IN THE FACADE WE TRUST™ traps you in a corridor caught in an ever changing and increasingly unsettling loop. With each cycle, you’ll notice subtle differences, but your objective in this corridor is not just to observe the changes. As the narrative unfolds, you will be forced to place your trust in someone during each cycle. The catch? Who you choose to trust will depend on both the knowledge you’ve gained from previous cycles and the unfolding events in the current one.

In this spine-tingling narrative, you will encounter two intriguing figures. The girl, who is obsessed with you, seems helpful, yet enigmatic. Her presence is both comforting and unsettling, as she desperately seeks your trust while not wanting you to uncover her secrets. You will find yourself drawn to her, but also feeling uneasy about her true intentions.
On the other hand, the creature embodies an unknown truth. It seems terrifying and unpredictable. Although it appears threatening, there is an unsettling charm that beckons you to uncover the reality behind its existence.
Both characters will challenge your perceptions, choices, and trust with their words. But be cautious. The one you do not choose may complicate your next cycle, making it more difficult, tense, and terrifying. It will try to confuse you and do everything in its power to undermine your trust in the one you chose.
Photorealistic graphics.
No randomized events, a carefully planned narrative experience.
No pop-ups constantly telling you whether your choices are right or wrong.
Two distinct paths.
IN THE FACADE WE TRUST™ is a short (~75 minute) psychological horror walking simulator inspired by genre pioneers like P.T. It offers a trust-based experience where the structure remains constant, but the details evolve to tell a compelling story.

good game
Really nice concept, keeps you on edge throughout and it's great fun making decisions based on what's presented to you. For a solo developer their games are amazing and definitely deserve recognition. Thank you!
pretty cool

This game depends on your choices. It manipulates you into thinking you're wrong but at the end of the day you have to pock a choice. The game is not scary but more of a psychological horror experience.
IN THE FACADE WE TRUST™ — developed by svklmrt and published by Patchwork Interactive — is a tightly focused psychological horror experience built around repetition, perception, and the fragile nature of trust. Rather than relying on elaborate mechanics or combat, it traps the player in a looping corridor where each return pass reveals subtle distortions, shifting details, and creeping changes that challenge your sense of familiarity. The game deliberately narrows its scope to a single, oppressive space, using that constraint to heighten tension and draw the player’s attention to the smallest anomalies. In this enclosed environment, the horror becomes intimate and psychological, not because of what leaps out at you, but because of what quietly mutates in the periphery of your awareness. The aesthetic direction supports this atmosphere with stark environmental realism. The corridor is rendered with dim lighting, reflective surfaces, and carefully staged shadows designed to make the mundane uncanny. Object placement becomes an active narrative device: a picture frame that tilts, a door that appears ajar when it shouldn’t be, a missing clock, a new smear across the wall. These tiny changes accumulate, creating an escalating sense of wrongness. You begin to question whether the world is deteriorating, whether your protagonist’s mind is unraveling, or whether unseen forces are manipulating the environment for their own purposes. This subtlety makes each loop feel like a test of observation and nerve. At the center of the experience is the game’s trust mechanic. Within the loop, two entities attempt to guide you: a mysterious, seemingly affectionate girl and a strange creature whose intentions remain cryptic. Neither figure is fully trustworthy, and the game encourages you to question their motives through hints, environmental cues, and the emotional tone of each encounter. Every time the loop resets, you must decide which one to trust — a branching choice that shapes your route and ultimately determines your ending. Because the storytelling is sparse and open-ended, these decisions carry an additional weight: they are based not on explicit exposition, but on intuition, suspicion, and your interpretation of ambiguous clues. Gameplay intentionally leans toward minimalism. There are no complex puzzles, no chases, no combat — the act of walking, observing, and choosing becomes the core loop. For players who appreciate slow-burning horror built on tension rather than action, this simplicity allows the atmosphere to take precedence. The repeated corridor also becomes a psychological pressure chamber: familiarity turns into claustrophobia, and predictability dissolves as each cycle distorts previous expectations. The short playtime — roughly 75 minutes per run — enhances this structure, allowing the game to deliver its emotional impact without overstaying its welcome. Multiple endings motivate replay, giving the trust mechanic genuine narrative consequence. However, the game’s design will not appeal equally to all players. Its minimalism can feel limiting for those who prefer interactive or mechanically rich horror games. The looping structure, while central to its identity, may come across as repetitive if the psychological tension does not resonate with the player. The first-person perspective and slow movement pace can also induce motion discomfort for some, a common issue echoed in player impressions. Likewise, the narrative leaves much open to interpretation. While ambiguity is a deliberate choice, it may feel like a lack of resolution to players who expect more explicit explanations or dramatic reveals. Despite these limitations, IN THE FACADE WE TRUST™ succeeds in crafting a distinctive horror experience that relies on atmosphere, subtlety, and emotional discomfort rather than spectacle. It invites the player to read the environment closely, to question their instincts, and to understand that the terror lies not in what they directly witness, but in what they infer. The tight, looping structure keeps the tension steady and the pacing deliberate, while the branching trust mechanic adds replay value and thematic depth. For fans of psychological horror who appreciate introspective, mood-driven storytelling, it delivers a memorable experiment in uncertain reality and fractured perception. Those seeking a more traditional or action-heavy format may find it too restrained, but for its intended audience, it offers a compact yet effective descent into doubt and distrust. Rating: 7/10
