With the progenitor of the genre, Cookie Clicker, being the minimalist masterpiece of interesting openings, it never ceases to boggle my mind how many idle games have boring openings.
Boring opening with a specter of save loss

also: a minimum-effort mobile port
I don't see any reason to continue playing Idle Atomic. It has a boring opening and I can't really see any enticements on the horizon. There doesn't seem to be any jokes or plot. And with it being a minimum-effort mobile port, it also kills any hopes for a long-term or sporadic play. Firstly, it has several non-obvious UI elements, but there are no tooltips - so staying on top of increasingly coplex mechanics is a no-go. Secondly, other reviews mention a bug that causes save wipes. Well, that's an ever-present risk in a game that you'd play for years on end, so obviously you'd take this into account and just regularly back-up the save onto a file on a pendrive... but then it turns out there's no option to export the save. Apparently the standard feature for web- or PC-originated games is not something that smartphone apps use. (And thirdly, while it's not on the level of the worst of freemium smartphone apps, the attempts at upselling do feel too in-your-face.)
In conclusion,
skip it.
