Icemaze Cave: Skate Escape

Icemaze Cave really is a nostalgia trip! If you ever played Pokemon growing up, I recommend trying this out! Great music, cozy art and slick gameplay.

I feel like an ICE GOD when I solve these puzzles. I'm going deeper and deeper into caves, skating into frosty madness. Adoring this game! Pros: + Nostalgic, 8-bit music. + Such solid and nice effect when you bump into things. + Puzzles are just the right difficulty. + love the little skate-tracks. + Cute Cons: - It's on the shorter side, 100 levels (but I personally like short games, especially when they are puzzles!) Now I will continue skating into the ICE-depths B)

In Icemaze, described by its creators as a “zen puzzle game,” sliding into a new place is surprisingly comforting. Icemaze takes you through a series of caves. As it turns out, “zen” is a really accurate description of the Icemaze experience. Soothing background music and satisfying, clicky sound effects subtly and skillfully complement the retro-inspired whimsical art style. 10/10

Both fun and challenging enough to make you want to pull your hair out

I'm not usually one for puzzle games, but there's in the charming simplicity of this game that just grabs me. Also helps that the music is a straight up bop. In my experience puzzle games tend to be either extremely difficult, or trivially easy. However, I find this game strikes a pleasant balance between them. Highly recommended!

I love games where I can just hop in and play for a bit and then stop whenever I need to do something else. No cinematics, no unnecessary animations or loading times. This is a game like that. Perfect balance (for me at least) on the level of difficulty. Just enough to make me use my brain and keep me interested, but not hard enough to make me rage quit (unless you want three stars, that was way more challenging). It's very nostalgic as well if you grew up with the first generation of Pokemon games and know what being stuck in a cave feels like. The only problem I have with this game is that it is addictive and I lost track of time.

Anyone could win!” The world holds its breath to see who will win the most prestigious game award in the world. “Wow!” says Geoff . “I don’t believe it! My favorite game won! The winner is ICEMAZE CAVE: SKATE ESCAPE!!!!

The relaxing puzzles together with the calm music makes the game feel almost like meditation. I can recommend this as a way of unwinding at the end of the day.
