About
The Royal Space Force needs you! A malicious alien force known as EXODON has brought chaos upon the Cyan Galaxy. Outnumbered and outgunned, the Royal fleet doesn’t stand a chance in a head on shoot out with the invading armadas. Tactical precision is the only chance of success. You must bravely blast through the hordes and vanquish the enemy leaders in your single seat starfighter, symbolically dubbed the Titan. However, you won’t be all on your own. A small eclectic squad of wingmen will fight by your side, while the Starhulk space carrier provides a mobile base where you can upgrade your ship. In order to prevail you will need to evolve the Titan’s arsenal from a humble single shot cannon to a spread shot, laser shooting, rocket launching, bombastic one man army.
Hyper Echelon takes inspiration from arcade classics while bringing its own authentic flavor of frantic, tactical shooting action - a bold experience with enough teeth for hardcore players, and plentiful rewards to welcome newcomers.
Missions - The core story mode takes you on an epic campaign across the galaxy featuring 10 distinct worlds. To advance you must do more than survive, you must earn medals by completing specific objectives. These objectives include destroying all enemy units, finding collectibles, and various specials tasks unique to each mission. Try to get them all in one shot for a top rank, or progress steadily by focusing on one objective per run.

Wingmen - Bring a wingman into action to fight along your side. While managing two ships at once makes you a bigger target, the wingmen compensate by offering greater firepower, and extra special abilities. The most effective way to progress in the game is to achieve a harmonious relationship with your wingmen. 3 unique wingmen characters can be unlocked by playing missions.
Special Abilities - In addition to an array of standard projectiles, the Titan and wingmen have special abilities. These include offensive attacks, shields, and the ability to slow time. In order to use specials you must keep a stock of Plasma, which is collected from busting up crystals and absorbing it from Space Kraken.
Upgrades - Collect Golden Parts in battle, and use them to purchase hundreds of incremental upgrades in order to improve 8 different ship components. Not only do you grow stronger in combat, you also get the satisfaction of detailed visual changes to your Titan in the hangar. Proudly watch your stock gray bird light up like a Christmas tree, as your robot mechanic tinkers away.
Difficulty Tiers - There are four difficulty tiers for every world, which each offer a fresh set of medals to earn, and greater GP rewards. Not only does the difficulty increase by statistical parameters, new and improved units appear in higher difficulties, keeping you on your heels and providing a sense of newness.
Star Carts - Special upgrades can be unlocked by somewhat rare item drops. If you find a Star Cart you must survive to the end of the mission to acquire its reward. Star Carts provide a variety of perks including enhanced wingman weapons, upgrade discounts, character skins, and many more!
Achievements - Go above and beyond to achieve more than just bragging rights. 36 achievements are fully integrated into the experience, and offer in-game GP rewards.

Arcade Mode - Play through all of the story missions in linear succession with limited ships and continues. Power up your ship with traditional pickups, and climb the leaderboards with an engaging chain coin scoring system.

Reviews
Yeah, this game is extremely grindy. I know other people wrote that, and I did not fully believe it. It is VERY grindy, believe me. Prepare to meet the same basic enemy types in every level. Perpare to play the levels over and over before you can tackle the next one. It feels weird, I'm not sure whether I win because I got better at the game or because I simply invested enough credits into my ship upgrades.. The game is also SUPER HARD (isn't a bad thing on it's own) but that only adds to the gindyness. Unfortunately there is no real reward for beating a level on higher difficulty and the best upgrades are those which you can get randomly ("lucky"), so really you are only rewarded for investing more play time. However, the artwork is really nice and I definitely wan't more of it. The art time they saved on the basic enemy types they invested into very distinct levels, background art, mini-movies, funny mini-bosses, "secrets" etc. Nice to look at and very likeable. I say it agin, the level designs are very good fixed pattern levels (7 out of 10, the 3 warp hole ones are mediocre). If this game was in style of tyrian 2k gameplay wise that would be a dream (fairly easy difficulty and tons of content ). I really like the wingman mechanic and I wish they had done even more with it. Positive mixed review after I finished the story arc.

amazing visuals and animation, the game has a wingman co-op mode which is cool but i kinda wish you could just select another normal pilot, the music is memorable and i wish i could find it somewhere to listen to in my spare time. Overall great game but hard as hell
great shmup! 👍️
It's a good game. I like it!
I think this is a good Indie game and worth the $8 I paid for it while it was on sale. Pros: + 2 player local co-op. + Beautiful retro art style + Fun intro scene in the same retro art style + Lots of other cutscenes in the game (did I mention yet that it has a beautiful retro art style?) + Simple, uncomplicated gameplay (shoot 'em up space game obviously) + Relaxing music + No consequences to dying (again, relaxing, you can just do silly things). + The environmental hazards were a fun variation to the gameplay. + Decent boss designs with destructible parts. + Rather child-friendly, appropriate for most age levels in my opinion. + You can fly as a dragon. The kids loved this. + One of your allies sounds like Batman. The kids loved this too. Cons: - A little bit grindy, as some other players mentioned in their reviews. To clarify, you have to level up your ship to be able to accomplish the objectives on the levels. If you beat the level and defeat the boss, you still can't progress to the next level until you've destroyed 100% of the enemies or collected 100% of the plasma on enough of the previous levels. So the game kind of forces multiple playthroughs of each level. When you playthrough a level again, the enemies are faster, do more damage, and have more health, but the level seems to be the same other than that. It felt a bit repetitive. The kids didn't mind this though, so it's a good option for playing with them. - There are only 10 levels (with 4 difficulties per level, but same enemies, terrain, and boss). There are some difficult / amusing achievements for some of the levels, at least. But more content would have been nice. - The dialogue between characters is cheesy and annoying. It's slow to skip through. Either the dialogue should be better written or left off entirely. Even the kids found the one-liners to be uninteresting. They did like all of Shadow's dialogue though. - Later in the game you can be invincible for what felt like 30 seconds, and the bosses aren't a challenge anymore even on the highest difficulty. On the plus side, if you're having trouble beating the game, keep playing and eventually it won't be as challenging. A better balancing of the difficulty with special abilities would have been nice. - When playing singleplayer, your wingmate stays right next to you and doesn't dodge. This doubles the size of your combined hit box and keeping them alive can be hard. Playing local co-op alleviates this problem. - The invulnerable enemies that fly around the screen are annoying. They're briefly explained, but they didn't seem to fit into the story and nothing was ever mentioned about them again later. Overall, not bad for an indie game. I / we've played 13 hours and aren't tired of it yet, so it was worth it for us. I think it would be a good fit for a casual gamer with a wingmate that wants to play a simpler game.
Clone of the SkyForce series. But it' not bad! Very nice game. Very!
De balans in deze shooter is perfect! Zeer mooie pixelart stijl en relaxte muziek. Erg fijne game die lang leuk blijft!
This game is great just like Sky Force Series
Nice little fun shooter, perfect a chill evening when you just want to kick back with a controller and blast things without thinking too hard about it. Great update system keeps progression going and enables you to grind past things that are too difficult - which I love. Definitely enjoying it a great deal.
