Hell no. Another classic patreon cvcked game with zero meaningful development besides "fixes" and lore dumps for 8 YEARS. In fact when I played this to get a fresh perspective, it was so much worse than I remember. Most of these projects ended up the same, so just go back to e621 and have a better time at this point.
Unbearable Walking Simulator Things you can do while walking from one side of the starting island to the next using Auto Run: - Clean your apartment - Go shopping - Do your taxes - Clean the bathroom - Work overtime - Go to the gym - Meet a woman - Start a relationship - Get married - Have your first child - Watch all the Lord of the Rings movies (extended) - Watch all the Star Wars movies (the good ones) - Recreate the island from this game 1:1 in Minecraft - Show your firstborn how your character completed the first half. - Explore Elder Scrolls Arena 100%. - Complete all Assassin's Creed games 100%. - Have a second child. - Accompany your first child to their first day of school. - Receive your pension. - Learn the language of the Xralypra aliens after they conquer the earth - Reach the end of the island. - Realizing there's nothing there. - Going back to the first town, because you can only save there - Play GTA 8 This game is okay... but... In short it's an expensive game (for what it's got, especially considering how it's been in development for around 7 years) that also has patreon backing, but overall feeling lacking in content or reason to play, while also bogged down by visual novel elements. Good part is the feeling of going on an adventure, but it's currently left feeling more like a tourist bus or walking simulator rather than something more swashbuckling or daring or even thrilling. Normally I would avoid writing a wall of text review, but this just has too much to mention.... First impressions of the game are not good, it's lacking a reasonable tutorial and an odd camera view, means that you're going to have to rely on community guides to figure out what you're supposed to do, or even just make some basic money in the game. The camera view is not able to be changed, and in my opinion is far too low, feeling like it's dragging along the ground. Something that I don't particularly like but understand, is how everything is expedited through text. Chat to someone, text. Storytelling, text. Moving from location in a fast travel way, text. Collect something harvestable from the ground, text. It's not just that it's text, but also that often it's a mini visual novel worth of text, often in situations where you need to repeat actions (accessing stores and shops, or fast traveling, for example). Something absolutely terrible that the developer actively realises, is the overwhelming scale of the landmasses made in the game, otherwise why else would they have built an automatic walking/moving forward button? The issue here is that nothing has been changed to actually rectify this, which turns the game into a massive walking simulator. I have a serious issue with most of the the side quests being locked behind dialogue options, they just won't show up unless you choose the correct dialogue options and can be possibly locked out by incorrect choices. Currently I don't feel that the main reason for playing is subsequent enough. The whole "Hunt and snare" section of the game seems pointless, (outside of potentially needing resources for a quest) in the long run you don't need extra crew members or guild coins so I'm left wondering why bother? It takes money to buy ammo, which you use to capture skittish wild furries (this part can be interesting), but the thing I feel that makes it less worthwhile is that the game has a gallery mode and a character creation mode, so why bother have the hunting in the game. It makes something that should be the main reason for playing into something that feels tacked on and irrelevant to how the game plays. We actually get most of our money from looting treasure chests and floating debris around the islands, so it's not good for that either! I just don't see the point of having a sidekick character, they don't do anything outside of being part of erotic scenes and can only be equipped with clothing. In fact whenever you have a character follow you it has a serious bad impact on overall game performance, as the game renders semi-transparent sex animation makers everywhere. At the moment there's elements of the game just plain missing, you're supposed to choose a First-mate and a Quarter Master before sailing, but none of these exist. Then there's mention of the capital, which is supposed to be where guild coins are spent, but this is also missing. This makes the entire storytelling feel immersion breaking. Good points is that the game has a nice ambiance and sense of lore, if it wasn't for this it wouldn't be worth playing! (Disclaimer: I play games in offline mode and have played more than the stated hours tracked by steam, steam doesn't track hours played offline in the same way).
It used to be fun to boot up and run around and try to save people without using the gun and grabbing the side quests were an amusing distraction. Now they've added so many mechanics that my fun casual game is just an act of frustration every time I start it up.
ive had this game for years now and its still just a big world thats 90% empty all the sex stuff is where the time and effort went to this game is not still in early access in fact that part of the steam page has not been updated in awhile even fellow furries should stay away from this piece of trash ruffleneck you suck dude and you scam everyone who buys this game.
I will try and summarize why I think this game is "worth" exploring to an outline of logical understanding of what kind of gameplay and world building is expected in order to progress through the game as a steady pace. Understanding the lore of this game and its world is important otherwise nothing will make sense and you will have no idea what you are doing. Long story short there are sentient ferals which the civilized anthros "hunt" and shoot with curative tranq darts and capture them and then rehabilitate them to be civilized again. I do not know if this is more of a kink than some kind of latent systemic neuro-virus which exists but you notice in some conversation options of asking questions or replying that when someone was "cured" they are no longer "feral" and living in the wilds. You as a main character regardless of what background or skills you choose where feral and living in some kind of "pleasing flow state" before being "captured" and starting your life again. A pretty interesting design story wise. It isn't contagious but the world revolved around you finding naked feral tribals and shooting them with tranq rounds which are designed for different species or different cure rates to then hire, add to your crew or have them be followers, or sell to the Guild so they can be trained. You are given generational options on what kinds of feral's to spawn, Between males, females, FTM or Futa the options are healthy and let you explore a sailor aesthetic to capture, mate and add to your crew of your ship. There are tons of romantic scenes and poses, postures and camera settings but I am still exploring. Now this is where things get tricky, this is a Unity engine game and it shows but some of the things here are almost to impressive they just are not easily captured in the moment. I have not run into any issues so far but one thing I pick out if that really this game does not hold your hand and you are going to spend dozens hours upon hours running around the first island and its smaller water based siblings. There is no fast travel system so far I can tell and trying to figure out how to complete other quests is kind of a challenge as only your journal really encourages you to explore the conversations in depth and almost in a TES Morrowind like manner but modernized. You will be given full instruction of what to do, yet the map does not help as you would think. There is a pacing issue and conversations are more focused on both passive highlights of how the character you are interacting with appears in a written3rd person conjuncture followed by the actual conversation itself. That takes balls given its more work for the devs working on it but it shows a level of immersion not everyone would understand that kind of dedication and it does become annoying if are you going to start a new game. From my exploring there is a lot of hidden treasure and things that spawn which are valuable but this is a very large game and the grind is a modest yet slow pace. I can say easily this is not a title for everyone but for a Unity game since 2018, its holding up somewhat well but I can see a lot of people expecting a faster experience. This is an open world game so expect that going in given the "grind" and how fast your character is as a brisk jog. But as it stands its quiet boring unless you find pleasure in using your problem solving skills here and there. Since this is still early access things are still churning. It could use a visual face lift but given the kind of work needed I think if more content and interactions in the world where improved and conversations somewhat slimmed down this could have more better potential. Lastly the Day and night cycle is a real ♥♥♥♥♥, time moves slowly and can you sleep to pass time however if you are out exploring the island at night be expected to be stuck in a semi lite large environment for a long time. Flaws included, I give this a 6/10 since I am still working to figure out everything but the story when it commands you do to something or progresses into a new area is actually nice but this is a game of grinding and exploring and looking through the threads of finding what hidden things exist. Most people may feel this would be 5/10 kind of game. Needs work but I can see the Devs put a lot of care into this. Heres' hoping the future looks more brighter for this game. But boy this should have been called a walking simulator with guns given how much leg work I have been doing for the last 3 hours with only being close to fixing my main ship.
Almost 10 years of EA now and this thing is still prety far from finish and i would say that its gona take at less a other 5-10 years befor its done, Unity 100 and UE10 will be out by then. just a other endless EA project that live on patreon not on steam... steam always have a lesser outdated version bc they only care for thos who back them up there not on steam. Dont waste your money on this it might never end and you will be left behind if you dont back them on patreon.
I played for 2.2 hours and I'm betting 1.9 of those hours was just walking on the first island. Not to mention, I never saw any enemies, only prey! I know it's early access but please add predators around the wilds, perhaps a fast travel system? Sorry if this stuff is already in the game, I just never saw any of it. I truly hope the game improves!
