About
HOMESICKNESS is a solely developed point-and-click free-roam psychological horror game that delves into the depths and nuances of nostalgia and primitive online media.
Step into the shoes of Theo as he explores the empty, desolate halls of CHILDREEF, making his way to the lower floors. With the Kids' Multi-tool, uncover hidden exits and find your way down as you attempt to make sense of what is happening.
Explore, collect items, find special tools for survival, and overcome what awaits in the seemingly empty corridors of CHILDREEF.
With each game over, things begin to change. Previously visited paths become blocked, and disorientation starts to set in.
Keep an eye on unseen corners; you are not alone.

You play as young Theo, awakening in a place long forgotten. In his possession is a lone tape, left behind by a loved one who holds a place in his heart.
The remnants of the tape serve as your only guide, leading you deeper into the daycare of CHILDREEF. As you listen to the tape's fragmented messages, clues begin to emerge.
The voice that speaks on the other end is the one that will guide you. She waits for you to come, on your way down.
Point-and-click free-roam exploration spanning three segments, where every corner must be checked; every item has a purpose.
Varied mechanics for each threat, each centered around a different tool at your disposal.
A deep dive into the nuances and symptoms of nostalgia, portrayed through an abstract, surreal lens.
A flexible, carefully crafted 2000s aesthetic that reinforces the core themes and atmosphere of HOMESICKNESS.
Lite gameplay randomization; with every death, room functions shift, previous exits disappear, and items appear in different locations.
An emotional, psychological story, woven into every aspect of the game.
Expansive post-game content, directly expanding on the main narrative; once you finish the game, there will still be much to discover.
Accessibility options and a highly customizable UI; playable with both mouse and keyboard or mouse only. The game does not rely on sound, though audio enhances the experience.
Optimized performance, ensuring smooth gameplay on most mid-range modern computers.
A minimum of 1GB of RAM is required to run the game.

Genuinely one of the best horror games i ever played, the story is incredible, character designs are really well made and the gameplay is really fun, really hope to see more of this game
so cool
homesickness is a point and click game that should have its place in the podium of fnaf inspired fangame/point and click horror. HS is a game where you will have to explore a building, trying to find item to help you find a exit, you will have at the same time to survive multiple enemie. it has a amazing 2000 distorded horror, i think it use very well the liminal/nostaglic aesthetic to make itself unique and have a very strong visual style something that caught my eye when i watched a nintendo direct style live for fnaf fangames. it his not perfect. one of the thing that are a bit of a let down: - You can easily get lost - the temperature mechanics its rarely use, because i know the exit is hidden behind the lock door - the main story his a bit too short, i was expecting a bit more but it has a lot of good things too - amazing ost - beautiful style - unique enemie - a lot of bonus content (from what i saw) - a lot of settings to have a casual experience or a more difficult one this game is a really, really good game. i like playing it and im eager to play the bonus mode and go achivements hunt. i think its a must play to any fnaf/point and click horror fan. i will definitely follow more of the creator and will buy the ost to support him.
I got a key from the creator of the game but its 100% worth the money ts so peak🥹✌️
It was mostly good. I'm gonna spoil some stuff in this review so if you plan on playing read with caution I guess. Now I don't know if it's that different in any of the stuff you unlock after beating the game but for the main campaign you basically traverse these areas that have progression items/door locks mixed around each time you die so you have to actually check the areas when retrying. I think the gameplay is neat. While exploring threats appear and you have to react to each one in a different way with the tools you have, and then once they're dealt with you go back to exploring. While I found like the more horror aspect of the game to be not that intense as it tells you how to deal with each threat, which you will deal with over and over repeatedly, I do think that the amount of stress does ramp up over the course of a level, and having taken a few attempts on the second one, I was very engaged whenever I made it towards the end. The first level kind of feels like more of a tutorial, and then the second one is more like the "real game" in a way. And then you get a third level that's short but mostly easy revolving around new mechanics (it crashed my game the first time around, was that intentional? lol) Gameplaywise that's it. There's some bonus stuff and modes like a newgame+ that seems cool, maybe I'll try them out some other time Honestly there only being two "real" levels is weirdly perfect for this game's pacing. Like it mostly avoids the feeling of burnout you get from click and point survival horror games where each segment is just the previous one but harder+ with more added. Like I so expected the third chapter to be the second one but harder, and when it wasn't, I was really pleasantly surprised. I don't really like the ending, I think at first it made me feel a little emotional and then Casey just keeps on going and going, this is kind of an issue I had with the tape recordings too, I felt like Casey repeated herself a bit too much, but I guess it's fine in the recordings cuz she sounds worried about Theo. The ending though? It felt like I was just being preached the same thing over and over. It's not terrible, just kind of eh. I love good storytelling in games, but good storytelling is drama and conflict, not having the themes of the story explained to you in a very long speech that bookends the experience. I'm not really a fan of horror stories where the actual horror is really just a metaphor for our main character's feelings or completely in their head or something, which is partially what's going on here. It just comes across as lazy, you can have themes and meaning and stuff without everything being abstract or only existing to symbolize something. The best part of the story though are the two flashbacks where Theo and Casey are just kind of chatting to each other. Maybe the speech at the end would have worked better if it was a convo between them, because these flashbacks actually got me decently invested. It genuinely felt like two people just chatting about life. Decent game overall, story was alright, atmosphere and vibe was really cool, gameplay pretty tense, I enjoyed it more than I didn't. Oh and the music is good too. I'd love to play more games by the dev if they ever make anything else.
boring, not scary, tedious this game is too short for the story it's trying to tell chapter 1 gets boring fast chapter 2 feels like a fnaf fangame that's trying too hard chapter 3 also gets boring fast
The only thing i could make out from the game is that theo is dead (i think?) and in some kind of purgatory, and that casey is (maybe?) theo's sister
this game looks really cool on paper, but sadly it all just fails in execution anyways thatguyzan consider yourself an opp from now on
gameplay não é muito impressionante de maneiras que eu posso destacar, mas esteticamente esse é um dos jogos de terror mais interessantes que ja joguei, recomendo caso vc queira uma experiencia mais curta e estranha
I have never played a point and click game before but, this one was definitely one of the best ones to get you into one. The story is really well done and with music and gameplay to boot it really creates a really interesting environment for the player and sets the scenes perfectly with really well done voice acting. Would 100% recommend if you are into liminal spaces and story driven games.
what a game. Not sure if im able to write well my thoughs, but i really liked this game, the ambience really imersed me into the game, really what got me into it was the sound desing, thats always something that if done right, it will make me enjoy the game much more. and I was very interested in its narrative, what was going on with these characters, what was their past, i enjoyed it all. just beaten the main story and excited for the bonuses it has for me to do greatly recommend if you up for a bit of a trip this game is!
