About
HOMESICKNESS is a solely developed point-and-click free-roam psychological horror game that delves into the depths and nuances of nostalgia and primitive online media.
Step into the shoes of Theo as he explores the empty, desolate halls of CHILDREEF, making his way to the lower floors. With the Kids' Multi-tool, uncover hidden exits and find your way down as you attempt to make sense of what is happening.
Explore, collect items, find special tools for survival, and overcome what awaits in the seemingly empty corridors of CHILDREEF.
With each game over, things begin to change. Previously visited paths become blocked, and disorientation starts to set in.
Keep an eye on unseen corners; you are not alone.

You play as young Theo, awakening in a place long forgotten. In his possession is a lone tape, left behind by a loved one who holds a place in his heart.
The remnants of the tape serve as your only guide, leading you deeper into the daycare of CHILDREEF. As you listen to the tape's fragmented messages, clues begin to emerge.
The voice that speaks on the other end is the one that will guide you. She waits for you to come, on your way down.
Point-and-click free-roam exploration spanning three segments, where every corner must be checked; every item has a purpose.
Varied mechanics for each threat, each centered around a different tool at your disposal.
A deep dive into the nuances and symptoms of nostalgia, portrayed through an abstract, surreal lens.
A flexible, carefully crafted 2000s aesthetic that reinforces the core themes and atmosphere of HOMESICKNESS.
Lite gameplay randomization; with every death, room functions shift, previous exits disappear, and items appear in different locations.
An emotional, psychological story, woven into every aspect of the game.
Expansive post-game content, directly expanding on the main narrative; once you finish the game, there will still be much to discover.
Accessibility options and a highly customizable UI; playable with both mouse and keyboard or mouse only. The game does not rely on sound, though audio enhances the experience.
Optimized performance, ensuring smooth gameplay on most mid-range modern computers.
A minimum of 1GB of RAM is required to run the game.

Reviews
Despite the jump in difficulty, some personal nitpicks voice acting wise, and annoying mechanics. I enjoyed the game, however my description can never do the game justice. The game conveys it's message, thematic(s), and over all story fairly well. And though I've only played just the story and Reprise. This game is really good at what it does and hits that emotional nostalgic point and click aesthetic similar to most early 2000s games and online sites. I say at least give it a shot, maybe it'll pull a heart string or something deep in your mind of what once was. To those who remember. The fondness of memory of what once was. It did something for me. Don't know what to be specific other than something about the messages about child hood and how we change in life. Like I said. I can't explain it myself. But enough of my blabbering. And a message to Jnity. Thank you Joel for showing and letting me play your passion project. You did a good job. I know what it is like to be a indie developer. It's not a run. It's a marathon. And to truly pour ones self into a game takes a lot of yourself and will power to illustrate into any form of manifestation. Whether it be art, music, a game, or even so much as the time to care and put into it. You did a good job and I hope this message not only cheers you up but for everyone else who was involved. Have a safe and blessed day. I keep on living man.
This game made johnsom grow
it's something, i have no words to describe my feelings about that game, thanks
Most unique horror game I've played in a long time. if you enjoy strong atmosphere and tension over direct scares then this game is fantastic. having this constant sense of dread throughout the whole experience really makes it feel so stomach turning as you play.
first impressions review, i'm not far enough in to talk about the full thing i know the person who made this game! that was enough to get me to buy it, and honestly it does not disappoint. so far, it's a really unique experience, i wouldn't exactly say it's scary, but the horror elements are on point, i really feel like i'm in this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up clickteam fusion hellscape. pretty great point and click all things considered, at least from the tiny bit i've played
Spreading it open wide and diggin straight up yo butt while playin HOMESICKNESS is the only way to do it
This game changed me.
awesome sauce
fire
