The learning curve is steep, and there may be imperfections, but if you crave a challenge and a platform where creativity knows no bounds, Homebrew awaits.
PLEASE NOTE: while active development is currently paused due to limited resources, every purchase supports the preservation of the game. Despite the lack of recent updates, we are dedicated to keeping Homebrew Vehicle Sandbox accessible and functional.

Although the game had amazing potential, its development has been abandoned. And when this happens, these 'still-in-alpha' titles should be removed from sale, or state clearly that they won't be updated anymore
Okay
I have owned this purchased this game already in 2015, but didnt like the game then. If your case is the same i would recommend you to try it again. This game has changed a lot in my opinion. But if not, and you are considering to buy this game now, highly recommend it. Probably the best vehicle builder out there. so lemme tell you something about it and what to expect. So first of all, This game is not for everybody. There are 3 types (generally) who start this game. The one who doesn't like it, doesn't know how to build, who doesn't want to even try to learn, doesn't know logic and doesn't even try to understand it, and who quits, gives a bad rewiew, and refunds. maybe not so radical, but a combination of those. there's nothing wrong in being one of these, it just means that this isn't the game for you. completely understandable. i feel that ~30% of who tries this are these types of players. Then there are the ones who see potential. they sacrifice their money and go past the refund stage, and tries. Usually these players get thourgh the brick wall of logic and complexity, they will like the game or even love it! theyll probably join the awesome discord server and engage with the awesome community. these players are the biggest portion of players from this game in my opinion ~55% and they will probably play the game for hundreds of hours. And then theres that guy who loves the building and freedom of the game and the 'customization' of parts and the logic. They will probably play the game for hundreds and hundreds of hours. I am personally in this gategory and love the game. these are i feel like the last ~15% of the community. There are more but i thonk those are the main 3. BUT NOW. What does the game do great and where there is something to improve on. GOOD THINGS: - clipping. Every part can be clipped into eacother making more awesome things possible. - Logic. Daym there is logic. - Tickrate. The physics are calculated up to 200hz/times in a second. 200! - The non exploding crafts if built right. Unlike in some games. - Customization of Wheels, gearboxes Etc. - Land, Sea, Air vehicles! - GUNS! - Good multiplayer. - Most things from IRL can be recreated with some trickery and creative thinking. - Very large map. - Good and creative builder. (Things still get out of hand sometimes) - Good physics. - AWESOME COMMUNITY! NOT SO GOOD THINGS: - Sometimes when things go out of whack they REALLY go out of whack. - Performance can be little meh depending on the situation. (Atleast on my setup) - Mod support is not ideal, BUT it is still a thing and you can still join a server even though others dont have the mod. Even custom models. - Bugs. Most are not game affecting but there is still a amount of those. (The game is made by only a few devs though) NEUTRAL THINGS: - Little aged graphics. - Little aged models. (Not all though) - Learning curve is not the smoothest. So these are the few things that come tho my mind from my modest amount of playing the game. If you are looking for a good vehicle builder, this is worth the 15€. Ill be looking forward to posting a update on my 300hr game time achievment. Hope this helped you to make a choice!
300 Hour update!
If you tried this game before 2018 christmas and didn't like it, go try it again, it got a new builder which is absolutely awesome. Now that I have racked up 200 more hours in this game, I can say that it just gets better with time. The new builder! The new builder has made the game so much more playable. No more dropping items on the ground and then welding them on, You just add them directly from the inventory. The addition of copying and symmetry has decreased the built time by a huge amount. You can do the same, better, in 3rd of the time than in the old builder. There are also new tools like the paint tool that lets you finally, well, paint your parts. No more need to use mods for that. Testing vehicles won't force you out of the builder anymore, just press f3 and your vehicle is dropped to the ground with physics and full control, and another press of f3 brings you back to building. No more 10 cm snap limit. Do i need to even address how big QoL that is? Every creation can be made to look 10 times better. The only limit is that 1 mm is the smallest achievable snap. The same goes for rotation. Parenting is another thing that is huge. Built a part of your vehicle on the wrong hinge? No problem anymore. You just select the parts and parent them to the correct hinge! Amazing. Shapes! No need to recreate cylinders using plates. now you can just add one. Almost all things can be adjusted! Thickness of pipes? No problem. Thickness of plates? No problem. You get the idea. Other things! - Snap in the tuner. Awesome. - Ability to mute your vehicle in the builder. Awesome x2. - Ability to hide the world. Amazing x3. - Ability to hide certain parts when building, thank god. - Storing selection groups. Use full with large builds and stuff. Awesome community! There has been efforts by the community and the devs that has brought us awesome stuff. For example, wheel replacer, now officially in the game! Tired of your old wheels? Make your own now! There is also a mesh hider mod that makes parts invisible! And much more! If you didn't like the old builder, You are probably going to like this. Only negative is that there are still some bugs in the new builder and some features are missing but nothing that will make it unusable. I'm going to make another recap at 500 hours of game time. Till then.
500 Hour update!
I have to say, nothing major has happened since my 300 hour update, but things are moving in the background! The devs are a bit busy with other things going on, but HB is constantly being worked on! From what I have heard, updates have been delayed by some background shenanigans, but I suspect there should be coming something new soon™. As I said, nothing major has happened. Community is still awesome. I will update again, either at 1000 hours or when something major comes out!

Homebrew - Patent Unknown. Ah yes, the good old times of 2014, when EA games started to flood the Steam market. Back then, this game slapped so hard that the patent is still pending.
please dont buy this game is unfinished and bland
Abandioned, buggy makes no sense probably easier to build a jet or car in real life
Was cool. Got abandoned. Don't buy.
Hard to get the hang of
This game has not been updated in 5 years. It has been abandoned by the developer, and I have no idea why I bought this game. I can't really figure out how to build anything in this game. The amount of locations where one could test their vehicles seems like a really cool idea, and I imagine this game was made to mirror "real-world" engineering more closely , and as a result, has a significant learning curve. Anyways, lesson learned, beware early access games.

[th]Aspecto[/th][th]Puntuación (0-10)[/th][th]Comentario[/th]

Jugabilidad6Divertida si te gusta construir y probar; no esperes “plug & play”.

Rejugabilidad6Alta si eres creativo; baja si necesitas objetivos claros y comunidad activa.
