on the early game its pretty chill and idle game, but on the late game it became an active game. I had to keep on upgrading and changing my build for best results. But overall pretty good.
- no automation, buy all, buy max or any QOL - tedious vtuber tamagotchi stuff - time and luck gated without offline progression Progression relies solely on setting up a multiplicative card grid but the cards you get are random and require a coins. You only get a few coins after every prestige (prestige requirements increase), as a login bonus or 1 coin about every 30 mins. Ofc not every card buffs every other card (tag and direction specific) which already makes half of them useless because some tags are only printed on two cards, the card doesnt feature a multiplicative increase and because the card field is 2x4 instead of 3x3 to limit it even more. You also have to rely on the two featured daily cards (they change after every ascension too) because they count for every tag and are pretty much needed early on for high increases. Ofc there is no option to safe card loadouts either and duplicates can be turned into another currency to further buff cards and buildings. Was fun for 1 or 2 prestiges and than you realize you have already seen everything and there are no changes to the gameplay, there is only a worthless grind to come.
Holoidle is as the name suggests, an idle game about Hololive, A V(irtual)Tuber group on Youtube. For the first few hours, it seems very active for an idle game, especially having to pick up litter and make sure your little buddy isn't hungry, sleepy, unloved, or dirty. While it's not necessary, doing so I believe doubles the speed of which you get tokens, even after 150 hours, this does not change, as you'll still be doing this manually (although you do get a robot that prevents litter happening). The game has upgrades that slow the rate of which the four bars go down, but never stops completely, being able to buy something that automates this would make sense considering this is suppose to be an idle game. Besides the little buddy person to whom you interact with, this game also has a gacha card system, which are used to massively boost your gains, which will heavily affect your early stage progress if you're lucky enough to get the best (four stars) cards, if you're not so lucky, it could potentially add tens of hours of gameplay before fully completing (getting all achievements) the game. Spare cards can be converted into Fragments that are used in Holoscope, kind of like a prestige system, so even after maxing out the cards, you can still benefit from them. One of the very few issues I have besides the Gacha is that there's no "buy all" option for Unlocks and Upgrades, or even a auto-buy option, which makes later runs more tedious when you unlock a majority of buyables very quickly. Not only is there not a buy-all, but there's also no automation for buying anything, which quickly gets annoying. This is definitely a unique idle game, although calling it an idle game is a stretch. While I personally enjoyed it due to the uniqueness and colourful nature of the game, giving it a thumbs up is difficult, fortunately all the problems I experienced can be easily added. If you're a fan of hololive, this might be a far more enjoyable experience than the one I had, nevertheless it's not a bad game. I'd recommend buying it on sale.
teach a man to cook and he can't fish but teach a man to fish and he feeds himself and cooks teach man cook and he teach man to cook and cook good not good he die starve teach man fish not starve cook and fish starve not if you've heard that before yes cook man teach fish fish fish cook and hunger not hunger not when fish man cook but hunger is starve when when fish not fish not catch fish hook hook man fish catch hook fish fish man not teach man fish feed lifetimes
Affordable idler with bits of interactions here and there, makes me want to setup my 2nd monitor again though, but due to the sound notifications it's also alt-tab-friendly. If vtubers aren't your thing you can probably just get a different idle game, but if you enjoyed even a bit of vtuber then I feel like it's worth it if you also enjoy idlers. In my case I found out about hololive vtubers when I was looking for streamers to watch when I wanted to see some gameplay of Arc Raiders, so I ended up enjoying watching Pekora and Botan and from there went into the deep end of the rabbit hole. I hope they add more characters and features in the future, like having multiple vtubers in 1 stream, also an option to hide chat, while I understand it's part of the vtuber job, as watcher myself I always hide chat since I honestly don't care and find the constant moving distracting, unfortunately the chat mood and buttons are right above the chat, so I can't hide the game partially behind another window.
Nice game !
