Hob

** Played on Steamdeck I really wanted to like this game more than I did. Still a good game and worth a play. It has some highs and some lows. First the highs. Beautiful world. Fleshed out. Huge. When the game is rollin it’s wonderful. Great little platformer and visuals. Now the lows. Controls can be abit slushy at times causing you to miss jumps due to camera angles. Probably just because played on deck, but frame drops in the single digits was uncommon. No actual dialogue or much of a story for a hook. But my biggest issue… there are times when zero idea where to go or the tiny hidden path how to get there. Drove me nuts sometimes. Could have really been special. Still recommend.

I really regret I couldn't get more into this game. It has so much potential, but I just couldn't help but notice roughness over the edges. The one thing that this game does pretty well are visuals and map progression following the story. But on the other hand the controls were frustrating. I can't count how many times I wanted to fall down and my character climbed back up over the edge, or when I wanted to jump just a little bit and Hob decided to take a leap of faith in the abyss. Overall I enjoyed it and I think it is a good game. It's just that the mechanics and the gameplay feels not developed and not refined enough. But it was enough for me to complete this game and look forward to the next game if the developers would ever release anything new.
