The town's factory is demanding more work from its people, making life harder for Ollie and his mum. The game blends everyday life problems with spooky mysteries. do i recommend it? yes and no. From an artistic perspective its stunning, it really is a unique artppiece. The atmosphere is well done, the characters are just fun little clay guys, and honestly i loved the music. It has a very eerie feel to it and i think its cute. However. I am unsure as of right now how much there really is to the game in terms of story. i technically played it through twice and it took me a short amount of time including having to reload because i got stuck in the floor. I really truly would love more horror in here, and i think it has an insane amount of potential- again its beautifully crafted. It would be awesome if (in the case that it is not present, i will replay soon to find out) there were two endings or even just a little more exploration into Ollies job and why things turned out the way they did. It was that I got invested and then it felt cut short. Again I can't not recommend it because I think if you genuinely care about the love artists put into their projects then you'd understand but it is short and it is a little buggy. I hope at some point we get to see more <3
Artistically stunning. Immaculate atmosphere. Completely wasted on a short meta-take. 3/10
Genial.
Iss gud🙂🙂
Very short game but the atmosphere is very nice. It could be better but still enjoyed it.
The very first project from Jan Nechvatal descibes his struggling after finishing high school. He had to got a job in the factory which was very hard and the only thing to do after the work was to go to local bar and drink. Hlina is a walking simulator from the world looking like Neverhood, but way way darker, sad and depressed. Everything is dark, it is raining a lot and depression is everywhere. The game is very short (up to 1 hr) and before it starts it ends. Most of the secrets will stay not explained. For example what in real happened in the end. Hopefully, there will be some sequel someday. --- 6.5/10
I received a code from the developer to play on stream. Hlína immediately stands out with its handmade clay/claymation world and eerie, Little Nightmares-like atmosphere. The Unreal Engine foundation (likely C++) is a neat detail for tech-minded players. The main menu fits the aesthetic perfectly and sets the mood before you even start. My only complaints are a very limited settings menu and a short playtime for a full release. Hopefully future updates will expand the content. Despite these drawbacks, I recommend Hlína for its unique style and promising foundation. ✔️ Pros: Distinctive clay visuals, immersive mood, technically polished ❌ Cons: Limited settings, brief length
This was well made! The graphics were charming, and the pov was great! Voice acting was a full 13/10 it's a dark but good story.
