Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0.5/day in the week to Jul 21 → 0.4/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

looks nice. dialogue is ok. not fun really.
Hey, If you like homestuck, it's pretty good. Joey and Xefros are an amazing duo. For the other trolls: Sometimes the filler visual novel game is better and that's okay!
GOATED GAME :o)

This game is hard to recommend. I'm 100% sold on the story and the characters. I actually don't really like the trolls much in Homestuck (fake fan I know), but the highlight of this game is definitely meeting all the trolls and getting to know them. The main character's are fantastic, and I'll probably get act 3 just for that. The visuals and music are great as well. I could see someone enjoying the game even if they aren't familiar with Homestuck if it weren't for my main complaint: the gameplay is just bad. Before long I was consulting a walkthrough every step of the way. I have no idea how I would have figured out a ton of the puzzles without it. The second half is especially tedious and the end involves a lot of backtracking. I was genuinely baffled at some of the solutions. Additional playthroughs to get all of the achievements felt incredibly tedious. I'm probably going to get Act 3, but I don't know if I'd tell anyone else to get into this series.
i love homestuck
i really like it

HIVESWAP: ACT 2 is a narrative-driven point-and-click adventure that continues the ambitious journey established in its predecessor, delivering a larger, more character-focused experience set within the unique Homestuck universe. Developed and published by What Pumpkin Games, Inc., the game follows Joey Claire and Xefros Tritoh as they attempt to survive the hostile world of Alternia while becoming entangled in conflicts far beyond their control. Instead of relying on fast-paced action, the game builds its appeal through rich storytelling, meaningful conversations, and a setting filled with unusual customs, eccentric personalities, and plenty of mystery. It confidently embraces its identity as a classic adventure game, rewarding players who enjoy exploration and dialogue over reflex-based gameplay. The game's greatest strength lies in its exceptional writing. Every major character feels distinct, with conversations that effortlessly balance comedy, tension, and heartfelt emotion. The script succeeds in making Alternia feel like a believable society despite its bizarre traditions and alien culture. As players interact with a wide variety of trolls and other inhabitants, they gradually uncover details about the world's political structure, social expectations, and everyday life. Even optional dialogue contributes something worthwhile, whether it expands the lore, develops relationships, or simply provides entertaining exchanges that reinforce each character's personality. Fans of Homestuck will appreciate the numerous references and connections to the broader universe, while newcomers can still follow the central story without feeling completely overwhelmed. Exploration remains a key component of the experience, with each environment packed with interactive objects, hidden details, and visual storytelling. The hand-drawn art direction gives every location a vibrant personality, using expressive character portraits and colorful backgrounds to bring the strange alien world to life. Character animations, facial expressions, and environmental details all work together to maintain the game's playful tone while still allowing more serious moments to leave a lasting impact. The visual presentation captures both the humor and danger of the setting, creating memorable locations that encourage players to examine everything around them. Puzzle-solving follows the traditional point-and-click formula, asking players to collect items, inspect their surroundings, and think logically about how different objects and clues fit together. Most challenges are well integrated into the story and rarely feel like arbitrary obstacles placed simply to slow progress. The puzzles encourage careful observation instead of random experimentation, making successful solutions feel rewarding without becoming excessively frustrating. Inventory management and navigation remain intuitive, allowing players to focus on unraveling the story rather than struggling with the interface. The soundtrack complements every stage of the adventure with an impressive variety of compositions that reinforce the emotional atmosphere. Lighthearted scenes are supported by playful melodies, while more dramatic moments receive appropriately tense or melancholic tracks. Combined with subtle sound effects and expressive vocal reactions, the audio design adds considerable personality to the experience. The music never overpowers the dialogue but instead enhances the mood of each encounter, making important story moments even more memorable. One of the game's defining qualities is its commitment to character development. Joey continues to mature as she adapts to increasingly dangerous situations, while Xefros serves as both a guide and a fully realized protagonist with his own struggles and motivations. The supporting cast is equally memorable, featuring a diverse collection of eccentric personalities who rarely feel interchangeable. Conversations often reveal multiple layers beneath each character's initial impression, giving players reasons to become invested in their stories even when they only appear briefly. The game is not without its drawbacks. Its deliberate pacing means long stretches are devoted almost entirely to dialogue and exploration, which may not satisfy players looking for constant gameplay variety or action. In addition, as the second chapter of an episodic series, several major plotlines remain unresolved by the conclusion. Rather than providing a complete narrative arc, the game focuses on expanding the world and developing its cast, leaving many questions for future installments. While this structure effectively builds anticipation, some players may find the lack of immediate resolution disappointing. Overall, HIVESWAP: ACT 2 is an excellent continuation that builds upon the strengths of the original while significantly expanding its world, storytelling, and cast of characters. Its beautifully illustrated environments, memorable soundtrack, engaging dialogue, and thoughtfully designed puzzles create a rewarding adventure for players who appreciate narrative-focused games. Although its slow pace and episodic format will not appeal to everyone, the game's creativity, charm, and commitment to character-driven storytelling make it one of the stronger modern entries in the classic point-and-click genre. Rating: 8/10
A bit jarring, but really starts picking up after a bit. I would consider act 2 to overall be better than the first one despite the drawbacks.
10/10 would get tricked by clowns again
