Hikari! Clover Rescue

Only one path through the story, but the story is pretty funny. Not the best comedy ever, but good enough. That pretty much describes the whole game. Nothing spectacular. 7/10. Can bust a nut to this.

while i really enjoyed the artwork i felt like they were all the same with same expressions. i'm not a fan of partial voice acting. why is the preferences not in the main menu? you have to start the game to access it. i do think the pictures could of use some touch ups as well.

Unfinished story. Choices that don't matter. One ending. One. INCREDIBLY short. Character portraits that don't match the actions the character is taking, and ONLY change in the face. As far as visual novels go, this is scraping at the very bottom of the barrel. The music is repetitive with short loops and doesn't always seem to match the mood. The art looks high quality at first glance, but aside from CGs is completely copypasta. The CGs are also mediocre, and at times leave you confused about the uncanny anatomy of these characters. Short as it is, you can watch through the story without missing anything and get a refund before the 2 hour window expires. This is insanely short for a VN, to the point where it's almost false advertising to call it a visual -NOVEL-, and more accurate to call it a visual short story. There's better games out there for free. Not worth the money. Move along.

Very enjoyable game. The story took a little time to lay out the groundwork, but once 3 of the 5 female characters were introduced, the story shifted into high gear. This is one of those games that gets to a point when it becomes so entertaining you just don’t want to stop. It took me 5 hours to go through the story, but it may take others less time. You definitely get your money’s worth. My only negative was that the ending was rather sudden. It left me with a feeling that they ran out of time or money when producing the game. Perhaps they planned it to have a sequel. (I hope there is.) All scenes are uncensored and without mosaic. A very nice story feature is that dialog boxes allow selecting how certain aspects of the 18+ content in the scene will proceed. Incidentally, the content you select appears on the screen during the story, then all content (including any content that you did not see in the game) is unlocked in the gallery. The voice acting is limited to key phrases, with most of the dialog only being written. I had no problem with this. The soundtrack helped fill in the quiet spots and didn’t feel too repetitive. (I often turn game background music off or extremely low, but that was not the case with Hikari! Clover Rescue.) The dialogues are complete enough that you know the motivation and viewpoint of the various characters, providing a realistic feel to them as thinking participants in this adventure. Recommended.

Ignoring how short it is, the story is plain terrible. It doesn't even try to make sense, and the characters are so all over the place you want each interaction to end far sooner than it does (which is odd considering how short it is already).
