This company has been sending me copies of all of their games in the lineup since October. Giving the benefit of doubt for having appreciating my reviews, this Christmas game is unfortunately a miss for the same reasons the rest of them are. This will be the last time I go through their games thoroughly until major changes are made. Overall - These games, aside from being unashamed in using what is assumingly near 100% AI generated artwork, is just outright boring. Aside from content being mostly AI generated, it is far from the highest quality or curated. You'll come across misspellings like "IHISH COFFEE" and see a pair of binoculars when the game asks for it, only to realize there's another pair somewhere else it's looking for. The developers aren't even fully aware of all the items the images generate. The music is generic. There is no festive cheer or any nods to a New Zealand vacation at all in its tone. The maps are all wide shots with random objects plastered around. There is seldom a time where items are fun plays on words, double entendres, or things that are sneakily hidden. They're just random items scattered around. That takes away from the overall charm an appeal for games like this - where you'll always find this in the ISPY series games, and some of the BIG FISH games in recent years. A lot of the mini games and maps are repetitive and samey. The music is an ongoing loop, which just adds to the monotony. Although there are some decent enough minigames, be prepared to have them overstay their welcome when they show up 15 more times with little increase in difficulty. It just makes me sad to see that this studio is making no effort to let this genre thrive by creating compelling stories, music, and artwork through their games. This is worth maybe $1 at best if you happen to find it in a Buy one GET FOUR deal in a bargain bin at walmart. To continually ask for over $5 for titles like this is downright insulting.
