Very relaxing city builder game. The gameplay is pretty straightforward and easy to learn, but it did take me a couple failed games before I really grasped the strategy behind which packs to choose and where to place things. It's very easy to get stuck if you're not strategic enough, but it's not especially challenging. My only complaint is that it does get really repetitive, so I doubt I'll be sinking a ton of hours into the game. Definitely still worth it for the price though.
A short relaxing game, no real goals aside from place stuff. UI is a little confusing on how to meet hexling needs but for a game under 5$ it's a fun little island builder. I only wish there was more interaction to it or a pause button so you could appreciate your village more without feeling the need to rush to put buildings down.
This game is absolutely great! It's cute, whimsical and relaxing with a side of strategy. Can absolutely make you lose track of time, and you will! It's a village builder that makes you think before you place your buildings. Some buildings don't like being around others - which in turn will lose you points that allow you to level up and get more buildings to place. If you don't reach the set point amount, its game over!~ definitely recommend for someone who's in a cozy, but strategic game mood(also there's a leader-board!).
This game is not very good. When it comes to playing "Cardboard Town"? That game may be tricky, but it's fun, not overly complicated, and the buildings in that game are very variable and much more colorful! But this? It's just more confusing, with buildings not being as variable. My advice? DO NOT BUY THIS GAME; IT'S NOT VERY GOOD!
Hexaroma inherits a *lot* from Islanders, which is no bad thing, even if it does so to the point of feeling like it's copying at times. What I can't abide is the strange way the controls behave, with some edge tiles being impossible to interact with; wireframes wanting to either go on an inner tile or out of bounds and not between. Beyond that though, it's cute but... not very engaging. Less a puzzle and more a constant sense of wishing you had done otherwise on previous turns, now that your choices are getting in the way of potential actions.
A cute island builder with puzzle
