Hero Plus / Hero Online This used to be one of my favourite games. I remember back in the day, -04 I believe, open beta released, two hours later I was on mgame trying to download it. It was an absolute blast, the community was big, loaded with events, updates and a time where devs actually cared about this game. Here we are, 2021, considering to download and play again, but.. Nah.. Here's the thing. Used to: * Active community * Helpful / Active devs * Tons of events * Anti-Cheat measures * Split servers for PvP / Trade / New players * Up to date graphics and combat system 2021: * As far as I know, there's only 2 devs left working on this game * ZERO anti cheat (alot of people bot & hack) * Completely P2W * No new content updates since.. Pretty much since OB * Complete focus on microtransactions * Poor graphics and combat, no overhaul has been done in the past 15 years * Utter and complete devestating gameplay The game used to be good, but they should've killed the servers back in -08/10 to preserve the precious memory of the game that we had. There's nothing left here, it's an abandoned game where the last devs are milking the last possible penny out of this game. It's fun to try, for a few hours until you realize "oh, that guy from reviews was totally right" I know right? Conclusion: It wasn't a bad game / company. It became a bad game and company.

"Hero Plus" is a trojan horse, it's a wrapper for the diastrous XignCode3 malware rootkit. This software infects any PC it's installed on and cannot be easily removed, if at all. If you install this malware, the mobile devs behind this Chinese spyware pretending to be an MMO can harvest your data and may possibly be able to perform remote code execution through the rootkit they install. Sure, they'll say it's just to make sure you don't cheat when putting in your credit card so you can buy in-game currency through the cash shop, but I don't trust them an inch. Avoid this cancer at all costs.

It was a fun game for these 420 hours, I mostly AFK trained my pet's however. Lv 81 Tiger, Lv 79 Wolf. Basically requires you to just stand still and let your pet do all the work. Sadly the game will literally perm ban you for having Cheat Engine on your PC. [BAN: 3rd party program issue] 2023-06-18 04:58:57 ​cheatengine-x86_64-sse4-avx2.exe I find it incredibly funny how Cheat Engine a SinglePlayer CLIENT based program that cannot alter any information within SERVERSIDE online games can flag your account to be instantly perm banned. Customer Service is also extremely bad, and you will get the same automated response. They won't look into any of your characters logs, so once you're banned, you're banned.

I changed my review because nostalgia. there are definitely some interpretation issues and no guides on the new systems, its very weird trying to figure out what exactly i need to do to get the proper skill books, but, all in all, its a good classic mmo.

I used to love this game 10+ years ago when it was called Hero Online. It was a proper community with the GMs being active online daily and you could contact then in game with issues you came across etc. Today there's hardly anyone online, prices are insanely inflated and even if it is a free game it's not worth it.

Strictly nostalgic. If you're a veteran player and you just want to play something thats more of a "comfort" game- then sure download and have at it. BUT if you're a new player looking to scratch your MMO itch- stay far away. The game is basically dead and the servers are OLD old. Every player that matters is max level or almost max level, 0-100 here takes a month (few hours if p2w) and 100-Max about a year and a half (~6months if p2w and with exp events) then thats not even talking about gears. Theres barely a player base in order to sufficiently stores stocked with decent weapons and armors so your only option is to grind a save hundreds of millions for decent clean weapons lvl1 "end game" weapon or swipe your card and pay billions for a solid set. Idk im torn by this game i really am. I want to love it so much, but its a shell of what it used to be and what it stood for.
