Each square adds to the number and you must reach the next lowest number in the order it occurs. So, if you need the number 5 you can go over three squares, 2, 3, and 4, to get to it. You can only use each square once and the highest number is the last number. All squares will be used, there are no extras. Some puzzles will have areas without squares that you must navigate around. After you complete the puzzle you are given a story that goes with the image. There are four stories, each story has five parts, for a total of 20 levels. The puzzles start with six blocks on the first puzzle and then increase as you progress through the game. If you are having difficulty with a puzzle you can press the Enter key to skip it. If you use the Enter key to skip the puzzle, you are briefly shown the solution and you receive the achievement. The stories in this game are trending longer than the earlier stories in the series. They need to played in order, and each next puzzle becomes more complicated. When a puzzle is finished, you get to read one chapter of the story. These are lengthy for this type of game and actually offer an interesting read. If you are impatient and only want to see the images, simply hit "enter" to auto-solve the puzzle.
