HellStar Squadron

It's a decent space shooter, on the easy side, but it was still too hard for me one year ago, but after a year of shooters I managed to get to stage 4 boss, that keeps wiping me to the floor. You have different ships, and after you clear a stage you can start from that stage again. The only two negatives for me are really: I)the enemy bullets are always orange, and when you are playing on a stage with an orange background..you can imagine, you need to sharpen your eyes. II)there is some needless dialogue at the start of every stage and boss, sure it's just a couple of lines..but if you keep dying and repeating again,and again it becomes really dull to repeat the dialogue.

HellStar Squadron ist ein akzeptables "Shoot èm up" mit einem gutem Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis. Die Grafik ist im Retrostil gehalten und gefällt mir gerade deswegen. Das Spiel ist nicht allzu schwer und ist in einer Stunde verballert. Das liegt vorallem daran dass ich unendliche "Continues" zur Verfügung hatte und der Spielstand automatisch gespeichert wurde. Ich betrachte dies als angenehmen Service von dem Programmiererteam. Der Wiederspielwert ergibt sich nur dadurch dass man aus drei verschiedenen Raumschifftypen wählen kann. Bei mir lief das Programm fehlerlos und die Steurung mit dem Controller funktionierte einwandfrei. Ein paar Archievments besitzt das Spiel ebenfalls und diese sind leicht bis mittelschwer zu erspielen. Wer gerne ballert und einen kleinen Geldbeutel besitzt ist bei HellStar Squadron gut aufgehoben. Ich empfehle das Spiel, da ich bis jetzt eine gute Stunde Spaß damit hatte. Ich nehme das Spiel mit Sicherheit nochmal mit einem anderen Raumschiff in Angriff. Und die Achievments will ich auch haben. :)

Simply excellent, the timing is tuff, but the challenge to beat the game is possible, and the musics are quite nice... a cool shoot em up to play someting fresh and a bit brainless. Recommended.

ファミコン風のグラフィックとサウンドが特徴の難易度低めのSTG。 自機は３機種+隠し機体１機から選択可能だが、通常ショットが弱く 基本BEAMで戦っていくことになるので結果的に大差はない。 アイテムは武器強化、ボム、シールドの３種類あり、時間経過で 画面上方から落ちてくるのだが見た目が似通っていて判別しにくい。 敵キャラの種類は少なくステージのバリエーションも少ない。 全体的に地味で爽快感も特にない。 ただ、ファミコン時代のゲームの雰囲気は良く出ており、背景など ピクセルアートもセンスが良く色々と惜しい作品。 しかし価格も安いのであまり難しくないファミコン風のゲームが 遊びたい人には、とりあえずおすすめ出来ると思う。

Pelo preço que ele vale é um ótimo jogo. Utilizando uma palheta de cores que lembra o Nes, suporte a tela vertical (TATE) e um ótimo shmup para quem tem dificuldades em jogar este tipo de jogo, recomendo este por ser fácil e divertido.

Right game for the right price. This is a nice little game to enjoy for what it is; it is not raising the bar for shmups but I don't think that it this was the intention. It uses a nice limited color palate and makes for a fun time. The levels are easy and the first few bosses are easy as well but the bullet patterns are nice. I am not normally overly concerned with scores but this one uses a multiplier for all enemies on screen you defeat and resets if one is missed. I am not sure if you get bonuses for not using bombs as the level loads after the last level was completed. Nice little storyline; not insanley deep but as this genre is not know for it's stories this was good. I would recommend this game.

HellStar Squadron is a very fun game to pass the time or just when you feel like shooting some fictional spaceships from hell. I love the soundtrack and visuals and reminds me a small bit of Undertale. Although I do feel as though the hitbox is a bit larger than it should be but it doesn't effect gameplay too much. It's pretty easy to get the hang of, too. So, I definitely recommend this amazing game.

Honestly a fantastic bullet hell. Beautiful detailed pixel art, catchy chiptune soundtrack, tight mechanics, fun bullet patterns, and a charming little story <3 <3

Fun little shmup. Nothing groundbreaking but it's a fun afternoon waster. And for a $1.99, who's gonna argue?
