About
Hellish Quart is a local-only (two players play on one PC, not online), physics-based sword fighting game. Set in 17th century Poland, it features a cinematic story and the most iconic sword fighter archetypes of this period.
With motion-captured fencing techniques and four gamepad buttons representing four attack angles, you'll need to use timing, technique, and speed to defeat your opponents. Choose from a variety of warriors and take part in cinematic story mode, arcade mode, safe sparring, quick fights, survival mode with online leaderboards, or local multiplayer. If you want to hone your sword fighting skills, you can spar with wooden weapons or train in modern HEMA gear. And for the ultimate experience, Hellish Quart also offers an optional VR mode.
Please note that the game is still in development and only supports local multiplayer (two players play on one PC, not online).

Hellish Quart utilizes active ragdolls and real-time physics to get you the ultimate fencing experience. You can attack from four different angles using the four gamepad buttons. Different button combinations enable special attacks and combos. When you are not attacking, your character automatically assumes a defensive stance, blocking your opponent's attacks using the autoguard feature. Proper timing, technique, speed, measure, and wits are all crucial to winning, just like in real-world fencing.
The game is set in the historical 17th-century Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and the character models are based on 3D-scanned, reconstructed clothes from that period. The single-player campaign, once completed, will be firmly rooted in the reality of life in the region. You will duel against Zaporozhian Cossacks, Polish Hussars, Tatars, Turkish Janissaries, Swedish Reiters, French Musketeers, and more.

Just wasn't for me. I was surprised how little content there was despite EA release being 2021. For some the very short story might be enough but the fights alone aren't that interesting and addictive. For comparison Half Sword came out not long ago (also EA) and it has more content and the fights are ultra addictive and fun with much variation. It doesn't have a "story mode" but still takes the cake. I'd go with Half Sword any day.
This is a very promising game, especially for people who are interested in a much more realistic historic fencing experience when compared to nearly all other sword combat games on the market! No fancy backflips, magic, inhuman strength, or infinite stamina that allows the protagonist to slay hundreds of incapable nameless goons here. This is a much more tactical, realistic, fighting game which is a breath of fresh air to all the "Assassin's Creed" and "Prince of Persia, Sands of Time" type games out there. The motions are motion captured from actual fencing students attempting to replicate real Victorian Era combat. Historical European Martial Arts practitioners are going to love this game! However, this game has been stuck in an alpha stage for a very long time now. I think the developers would greatly benefit from a larger team to help bring this game to completion, or, at least, a beta pre-release stage. As it stands right now, the critical physics system is very buggy, the campaign is too short, and the characters are woefully unbalanced. It's difficult for me to recommend this game to my friends at this time, because many gamers would find the bugs and imbalances too frustrating. Instead, I show them video of the gameplay and tell them to "wait until a stable release". In summary, I enjoy this game very much, but I don't think too many other people will in its languishing alpha state. I cannot post this review without committing a thumbs up/down, so I'm giving it a recommended "thumbs up" because I believe it has great potential.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,400 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

New York styled Pizza: Pizza dough: 14 g instant yeast 617g water - 95F 950g all-purpose flour 19g fine sea salt 25g granulated sugar American Pizza Sauce and Toppings: 1 tablespoon (14g) butter 1 tablespoon (9g) extra virgin olive oil 6 cloves garlic, rough chopped 2 teaspoons (4g) red pepper flakes 28 oz (794g) can of crushed tomato 2 teaspoons (2g) dried oregano 1.5 tablespoons (21g) granulated sugar salt and pepper to taste Splash of olive oil 2 cups (227g) low moisture mozzarella, fresh grated 2 cups (200g) Monterey jack cheese, fresh grated 1/2 cup (26g) parmigiano reggiano, fresh grated American Pizza Dough: Preheat the oven and a baking steel or pizza stone at 500F for 45 minutes before utilizing it. Whisk yeast and sugar into your water, and allow it to sit for 5 minutes. In a separate bowl, add flour and salt and mix by hand to combine. Pour your water mixture into your flour and mix by hand until you get a rough dough, then transfer to a work surface and knead until it starts to pull away from the work surface and is relatively smooth. Place your dough in a greased bowl, then cover with plastic wrap and let rise for 1 - 2 hours at room temperature or until double in size. Punch down your dough and dive into 300g pieces. Form those pieces into balls and place them in a floured proofing pizza box, cover with a lid, and proof at room temperature for 3 - 4 hours. (If you do not have a proofing pizza box, you can use a floured baking sheet, cover it with an inverted baking sheet and wrap it in plastic wrap.) American Pizza Sauce and Toppings: In a medium sauce pot, add butter and olive oil. Set that over medium-high heat; once the butter melts add garlic, cook until fragrant, add pepper flakes, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the garlic begins to brown on the edges. Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, and a splotch of olive oil, boil over medium-high, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 12 minutes, stirring occasionally or until thickened and viscous—season with salt to taste and let it cool down. Assembly.- Place one of your pizza doughs onto a floured pizza peel, and flour your dough generously. Punch your dough down in the center, working your way out to create a ¼” wide. Pick up your dough, place it over your closed fists, and rotate it around, gently stretching to 13” to 14”. Place a couple of spoons of your sauce, starting in the center, spreading in little circles, and working your way to the edge until it gets evenly spread out. In a medium-size mixing bowl, place mozzarella cheese, Monterey Jack, and Parmigiano; mix until combined. Sprinkle your cheese mixture to your desire and place in the oven onto your baking steel and bake for 5 - 7 minutes or until the edge gets golden brown and the cheese melts. Enjoy.

It is one of the best ever fighting game created, maybe even the best. It is THAT good. The hyperrealism forces you to strategize and read your opponent properly and what a great feeling it is when it finally feels like you're getting the hang of it. No spam, glitch, exploit, frame data and everything else that feels like it "mechanizes" fighting. It's entirely physic based. And it is glorious. Made by only 2 devs!!!
This game looks like a lot of fun, but I guess I'll never know because it just sits on the loading screen. Is it even loading? I don't know. There's no indicator. Maybe it's a menu with no menu. Whatever it is, it's not gameplay, that's for sure.
Very good game but please don't fight Isabella CPU on very hard You will hate life.
Mechanics are terrible and the game is more frustrating than it should be. It feels like the player has the power of a toddler and the ai is stronger than a gorilla at times. Its not well balanced. I trained in HEMA before I got injured in the military. I have longed for a good swordfight and this game did NOT help me scratch that itch. Instead it made me want to snap my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ controller in half with it inconsistencies.
