This game is freakin' sick, yes. Buy it immediately.
I usually don't like the fact that Steam only does a "thumbs up/thumbs down" review system -- and I'll leave honest feedback in my own review -- but this game absolutely deserves a most positive review. I immediately liked the premise: you're a refugee family fleeing a corrupt nation and seeking a new start in the wilderness. You literally start with tools and trees, and have to build a camp -- fish, chop wood, etc -- and as new refugees arrive, you start to build a town. This is where the game really shines; for a simple resource management/point-click it has all the beats of a satisfying story. You're literally building a settlement that becomes a huge city -- from scratch. I do have some small gripes: the story is ALWAYS the same, and without any different game modes or variations or procedural elements, the game can absolutely feel like it's railroaded at times. But the progression within the story is genuine enough that you never feel like you're forced to make mistakes, and if you play your cards right (picking the right upgrades and managing resources, picking the right buildings first, etc) you can feel as though you really are the elder of a hugely successful settlement, or at least someone who has accomplished something in the grand scheme of things. I've played a lot of games that I had no desire to play through more than once, and yet with "Hearth and Hamlet" I beat the game on every difficulty, and then beat it -again- just to get all the achievements. And I was still genuinely enjoying the game even in the last playthrough, making me wish the game had more variations or game modes. I got 90 hours by the time I finally set the game down -- it's worth having on while listening to audiobooks or working a desk job -- and I enjoyed the difficulty curve enough that I was always planning next moves or interested in choosing my newest projects. Was worth every penny, and I recommend it.

A fun and simple game that doesn't try to be too much, but it was pretty much everything I expected from an idle builder. The endgame felt a bit meh, though, mostly because it's too tied down to quests.
A fun game and a beautiful visual feast of progressive art as you grow your simple camp, into a kingdom. Well worth the price, especially as i got it in a bundle of other fun incremental games, offering a buffet of diverse offerings, this one being of the cosier variety. I played on the "steady" difficulty, offering me the more relaxed fun of balancing and building up my settlement, with reasonable dilemmas arising, to spice up and challenge my settlements capabilities to adapt. I completed the game with 22h on the clock. i played the game at times in parallel with another game, so time may vary between playthroughs and ppl, which the game encourages for those seeking achievements, to either play multiple run throughs or on a higher difficulty, as it seems lower difficulties achievements are also unlocked. If there is to be a sequel or dlc, where we either can continue on into new challenges after the base game, or follow a different story where we start a completely different settlement; A very good addition, even just minorly, would be branching choices, where we can shape not only what our settlement chooses in regards to two different options of progression (one major or many minor chances at choice), locking the other/s off, but making the art piece that is the visuals of the settlement growing and changing with upgrades, being our own uniquely enough piece of art to see. Good job to the Devs on this game. I lookforward to seeing what might be next either for this game or anything else you do.
Absolutely love this game - have been playing since the demo so was super excited for this release. The graphics are beautiful, the incremental game style is perfect and it feels truly rewarding. The different difficulty levels really add to the game experience and replayability
