About
Move Your Head, Feel the Game!
A New Dimension in Gaming with Real-Time Head Tracking
With this innovative application, you can control the in-game camera simply by turning your head left-right or tilting it forward-backward. Enjoy a more realistic and natural gameplay experience in games like ETS2, BeamNG, DCS, FSX and more!
🧠 How It Works
The application requires a virtual joystick vJoy driver to work. If this driver is not installed on your computer, the application will direct you to the free vJoy download page. Complete the installation and restart the application to start using it.
Calibration: By asking you to perform certain head movements (e.g., look right, look up), the system creates a more precise and personalized control profile. To make this easier, a guide is available at the bottom left inside the app.
Everything is ready! Open your game, connect vJoy, and easily assign your control commands. A step-by-step guide using ETS2 is included within the application to assist you.

Head Tracker presents itself as a modest but ambitious attempt to bring accessible, hardware-free head-tracking to PC gaming, and its appeal lies in how simple yet inventive the concept is. Using nothing more than a webcam and a lightweight calibration tool, the software translates your real-world head movements into in-game camera motion via a virtual joystick driver. The idea is to give players a taste of TrackIR-style immersion without requiring any specialized sensors, LED clips, infrared cameras, or VR equipment. For enthusiasts of driving, flying, or cockpit-style simulators, this premise is immediately enticing. The notion of looking into a turn, glancing toward mirrors, or intuitively checking the horizon simply by moving your head has long been associated with expensive or enthusiast-grade hardware. Head Tracker aims to democratize that experience, offering a low-cost and approachable way to integrate natural movement into gameplay. In practice, the setup process reflects that philosophy of accessibility. The software guides you through installing vJoy if it is not already present, then walks you through a series of calibration steps. You perform small head motions—tilting left, right, up, down—so the program can determine your neutral posture and your comfortable range. Once calibrated, Head Tracker attempts to output smooth analog values that games can interpret as camera input. In simpler or more flexible titles, especially those that allow analog stick control for looking around, the results can be surprisingly fluid. Games like Euro Truck Simulator 2, BeamNG.drive, and various flight simulators tend to react well, making the experience feel more immersive and tactile without the burden of additional hardware. However, Head Tracker’s Early Access status becomes clear as soon as you begin experimenting across different genres and engines. Some users have reported the program locking their in-game camera entirely to one direction, while others have encountered non-responsive menus or crashes when adjusting settings. These issues highlight the fact that compatibility remains inconsistent. A head-tracking system built on generic webcam data and a virtual joystick driver must contend with a wide variety of camera qualities, lighting conditions, and game input systems. Some titles interpret the virtual analog input flawlessly, while others struggle with sensitivity, dead zones, or unexpected behavior. This inconsistency means that Head Tracker, at its current stage, still demands patience, trial and error, and a willingness to adjust calibrations or per-game settings multiple times. Despite these limitations, the software has a certain charm. When it works, it genuinely enhances immersion in a way that feels natural and surprisingly intuitive. Glancing toward a cockpit instrument or leaning slightly to check your side mirror bridges the gap between player and game space, giving a hint of VR-like spatial awareness without the isolation or bulk of a headset. It also opens interesting possibilities for users who want accessibility-focused control options or those interested in experimenting with alternative input methods for modding or prototyping. The low hardware requirements and tiny memory footprint give it widespread reach, ensuring that even modest machines can handle the tracking process. Its current feature set is still basic. Profiles, presets, or advanced configuration tools are minimal, and the interface emphasizes function over finesse. Yet the developer’s roadmap hints at intentions to expand upon these systems as community feedback accumulates. Because the program is built around a flexible input pipeline, there is room to evolve and to refine how the software communicates with different game engines. Whether those advancements arrive steadily or slowly will likely determine how enthusiast circles ultimately judge the tool’s long-term value. Head Tracker, in its present form, is best approached as an experimental accessory rather than a mature utility. For tinkering-minded players, particularly those who enjoy simulators and are willing to meet the tool halfway, it offers something genuinely fun and fresh. For those seeking perfect polish or effortless plug-and-play compatibility, it may feel too raw or unpredictable. It sits in a space between novelty and practicality, with a promising foundation that could grow into something far more robust. Even now, though, it delivers glimpses of what natural, body-responsive camera control can feel like—and for many players, that alone is worth the curiosity. Rating: 5/10
Do not buy this. The camera tracking glitches constantly. It moves the in‑game camera even when I’m holding completely still. I use a laptop, and the app keeps turning the view left on its own. I tried it in Farming Simulator 25, ATS, and ETS2 — same problem in every game. I’m requesting a refund. Save your money.

It worked very well with ETS 2. I will try it with Farming Simulator too.
