It's very charming and has a fun gameplay twist with the night sequence. The art and music is great. The dialogues are good, not boring with some funny lines here and there. There are some interesting and fun characters. The main issue for me that made me stop playing was high mouse sensitivity with motion blur and no option to change either one. It was just hard to keep playing with that combination. Other than that, it's mainly the game mechanics themselves that need more clarity and polish. It's not clear how much to bid. It's not clear what you get or what the difference between art dealers is. The critical dialogue options are not emphasised in any way. There is a reputation mechanic but it's missing from UI. The night sequence mechanics are clunky: enemies have no walking animations, no collision, etc. The second night just ended for me for no reason with game over screen when I was standing still and there was a minute+ left on the timer, no wolves nearby.

The good: Dialogue is sometimes good. The game is free. The bad: Interacting is hit miss. You will see the prompt to press E to interact, but unless you have your camera in the right position, E will do nothing. You can't change the mouse sensitivity and for me, that means the camera moves uncomfortably fast. If you attempt to change the mouse sensitivity like I did, you will get stuck in the menu, and exiting the menu will allow you to move your character while still looking at the menu. I have no idea what an art piece is supposed to be worth, so offering a number between 0 and what I have feels pointless. I'd much rather just have them give me a price. You remain at the museum at night for some reason, and are supposed to survive the "monsters". Monsters are animals that have no animations that chase you when they see you. There is no suspense built up for this, and when you realize the monsters are animals, it becomes laughable. Also, I don't know what happens if you survive because getting caught seems to do nothing, so getting caught is the better option since it allows you to skip the 2-3 minute timer you're supposed to survive for to move on to the next day to do... who knows what?
Pretty fun game, I just wish it was longer!
I so badly wanted to enjoy this but the screen tearing is atrocious I was physically unable to play more. There's not even graphic settings at all. The interaction button is a miss as well, you have to be spamming or looking right directly at the object and even then it doesn't register. Premise and design is super cute but holy dizzy.
The game is fundamentally cool and looks ok. Interacting with objects can be a bit buggy at times but other than that its great
Haunted Hues is a really unusual game because it starts out feeling like a cozy art collecting simulator and then slowly turns into something much darker. I play as Larue, an aspiring art curator trying to build a reputation in the world of Amille. I liked that the game lets me spend time talking to people and building my collection before revealing that there is something very wrong with the gallery after dark. The daytime gameplay revolves around talking with collectors, locals and staff while trying to improve my reputation. I can earn money and use it to bid on artwork, which gives the collecting side of the game a nice sense of progression. I enjoyed having to think about who I was dealing with and what they wanted because the characters do not all feel interchangeable. The night sections are where the experience becomes much more interesting. The gallery changes completely once the horrors come out, and I have to use what I learned during the day to survive. I liked this contrast because the seemingly harmless business side suddenly becomes useful for dealing with the supernatural side. The choices I make during conversations also matter, which gives the story a little more weight. The presentation is easily one of the strongest parts for me. The colorful art style makes the daytime sections feel inviting, while the transition into horror becomes much more effective because of that contrast. The gallery itself also feels like more than just a backdrop, since the artwork and strange details around it help sell the idea that there are secrets hiding underneath the surface. My biggest issue is that some of the systems feel like they could have been pushed further. The collecting and reputation mechanics are interesting, but I wanted more depth in how my gallery developed and how my decisions affected the wider story. The horror sections are also much more compelling once they get going, so the slower early pacing can sometimes feel like it is taking too long to reveal the more interesting side of the game. I still really appreciate the concept because it does not feel like a standard horror game with an art theme pasted on top. The two halves actually interact with each other, and I enjoyed learning how my daytime choices could help me at night. It also gave me a nice reason to pay attention to characters and details that might have seemed unimportant at first. Overall, Haunted Hues is a creative little horror adventure with a great central idea. I enjoyed the art collecting, the character interactions and especially the way the gallery turns into a dangerous place once night arrives. It could use deeper systems and a more even pace, but the combination of art dealing and survival horror gives it a distinct personality that I really liked. Rating: 6.5/10
не особо интересная бродилка, оптимизации нету в принципе
Apparently I'm very good at getting accidental acid trips. Also the toilets are not designated enough, one mouse looked for two days to finally pee.
