Fun and quirky boredom simulator burdened by a task mechanic so obnoxious I quit the game/job. The jokes inside the game are funny. The tasks are zany. The email, and doc sorting is just grind-y enough to push you to progress through the game. Then there is the stock ordering system. The stock ordering system broke this for me. I struggled to progress more with the fun "boredom mechanics" because I can't memorise a flash of directional arrows. Great idea, love the goofiness, HATE the "stock ordering" section. If you want it to be arrow keys and confusing - fine! Makes for a great simulation of stupid job. I'd like to keep playing but it's a deal breaker for me. Edit after 9 months: they fixed the stock ordering section so it's not counterintuitive. It was a fun sorta game that kinda got me thinking about it. Glad it's reasonable now! Actually a fun little game now!
they need to fix the stock ordering mechanism. but its free sooo.

The kyle gordon DJ crazy times reference is what sealed the deal for me, this game is great.
I really like the game Hardly Workin' by Sleepy Sloth Studios because it is one of the funniest and most relatable games I have ever played. When I first heard about the game, I thought it would just be another simple indie simulation game, but when I actually played it, I realized that it has so much personality and humour packed into it. The game is about being an office worker who basically doesn’t do their job properly and slacks off the whole day. You complete small mini-games that involve avoiding work, tricking your boss, and messing around in the office without getting caught. I think the whole concept is hilarious because it’s the opposite of what you’re supposed to do in real life. Instead of working hard, the game rewards you for hardly working, and that’s what makes it stand out from other simulation games that are about efficiency and productivity. One of the biggest reasons I like Hardly Workin' is because it makes me laugh every single time I play it. The characters in the game are designed to look goofy, with the main character always looking tired or done with life, and the boss character looking strict and mean with a permanent frown on their face. The co-workers are also funny because they walk around cluelessly or do weird things like accidentally spilling coffee all over the floor. The tasks in the game are designed to be comedic too. For example, one task is to throw crumpled paper balls into the trash can while pretending to work, and another is sneaking a nap without the boss noticing. The sneaking nap task is my favourite because the animations show the character slowly closing their eyes with dramatic sleepy music playing in the background, but if the boss comes near, you have to quickly wake up and pretend to type on the keyboard, which is so funny to me. These little comedic details are what make the game so enjoyable because it doesn’t take itself seriously at all. Another reason I like Hardly Workin' is the art style and graphics. Sleepy Sloth Studios did an amazing job making the game bright, colourful, and cartoony. The 3D models are simple but very expressive, and the office setting feels alive with all the little decorations, posters, and objects scattered around. There are posters that say things like “Hang in there!” with a cat hanging from a branch, which is a classic office poster joke. I also like how the game lets you customize your desk and office area. You can unlock different types of keyboards, mugs, chairs, and even silly items like a rubber duck or a cactus with googly eyes. Decorating my workspace in the game makes me feel like I’m expressing my own humour and style, and it motivates me to keep playing to unlock more items. I also think the gameplay itself is very unique compared to other work simulation games. Most simulation games want you to be productive, do your job perfectly, and manage time well, but Hardly Workin' flips that idea upside down. The game wants you to avoid work and slack off without getting caught. This concept is so relatable because everyone has had those days at school or work when they just don’t feel like doing anything, and this game lets you live out that feeling without any consequences. It’s like a fun and harmless way to relieve stress and laugh about the struggles of working life. The mini-games are well-designed too, with simple controls but challenging enough to keep me focused. For example, there is a mini-game where you have to sneak food into your mouth while typing, and if the boss sees you eating, you lose. It becomes intense but hilarious because you’re just trying to eat your lunch in peace. Moreover, I like the soundtrack and sound effects in Hardly Workin'. The background music is upbeat and catchy, with a slight comedic tone that matches the game’s silly atmosphere. The sound effects when you mess up or get caught by the boss are funny too, like a dramatic “dun dun dun!” or the boss yelling random office phrases in a robotic voice, such as “Get back to work!” or “No slacking on my watch!” These little audio details add to the humour and make the game more immersive. I often play it with headphones because I enjoy hearing all the quirky sounds that come with each mini-game. Another thing that makes me like this game so much is that it helps me relax after a long day of school. Sometimes when I come home feeling tired or stressed from assignments and tests, I just open Hardly Workin' and play for 30 minutes. It makes me laugh and forget about my worries for a bit because it’s not a game that requires serious thinking or strategy. It’s just silly fun. I think games like this are important because they give people a way to take a break from their responsibilities and feel happy even for a short time. The humour in the game also reminds me not to take life too seriously all the time. I also admire how Sleepy Sloth Studios keeps the game updated with new content. Recently, they added a summer update where the office has beach decorations, and the mini-games include sneaking ice cream or fanning yourself with a paper fan without the boss noticing. These seasonal updates keep the game fresh and make me want to keep coming back to see what’s new. It shows that the developers care about their players and want to keep them entertained, which makes me appreciate the game and the team behind it even more. Furthermore, I like the game because it teaches a small lesson in a comedic way. Even though the game is about slacking off, it shows how repetitive and tiring office jobs can feel. It makes me appreciate the people who work hard in offices every day, but it also makes me realize that it’s okay to take breaks and not be productive all the time. The game exaggerates the idea of slacking off, but it’s still a reminder that balance is important in real life. Overall, Hardly Workin' is a game that I really love because of its humour, unique concept, funny characters, bright art style, and relaxing gameplay. It is not just another boring simulator but a creative and entertaining game that makes me laugh every time I play it. Whether I’m sneaking a nap, throwing paper balls into the trash can, or decorating my office desk with silly items, I always have a great time playing. The developers did an amazing job making a game that is relatable and fun for students, teenagers, and adults. I think it’s one of those games that will never get old because there will always be something funny about slacking off at work, and Hardly Workin' captures that feeling perfectly in a way that is safe, entertaining, and absolutely hilarious.
