The pissing dragon released his wrath onto my wicked face. Reducing me into the puddle of sorrow i weep in.
This might be one of my favorite "hidden gems". I don't play it much these days, as my friends and I discovered it during the 2020 lockdown and we've all since gone back to work. It's still a go-to for group gaming, especially of the intense puzzle variety. I've loved the continued updates over the years, bringing in new monsters and challenges. The character customization is pretty lacking but that doesn't really change how the game plays. It's just the right amount of challenging with an enormous amount of options for map layouts, and the procedural generation of the maps usually means I'm screaming in terror while laughing at the antics of my friends each and every game. Highly recommended.
The third installment of "escape-room but wackier" that somehow, manages to be worse than the first two installments. Impressive. The mouse cursor now flies across the screen because it's tied to the game, not the operating system, for some unknown reason. Singleplayer no longer grants loot crates. Room710Games decided that greed is above benevolence. Well done developers for taking a note out of EA's handbook. Singleplayer is immensely broken, often showing text meant for co-op such as "waiting for teammates to rescue", when there are obviously none. Since it's singleplayer. Yikes. The room variance is somehow lower than Half Dead 2 with some "nothing" rooms like the bar. It would be better if it was one in a thousand, not one in ten. Lazy. Deathrooms can now be escaped using two boots, trivializing them entirely. Enemies still walk on a linear rail just like the first Half Dead, only gaining sentience and beginning their chase at the end of said rail. Looks awful. Like the first two games put together, all negatives included, with a few steps backwards and no innovation whatsoever. Avoid.
This game is such a downgrade and feels very wrong in comparison to the first 2 games. They removed the fun mechanics like customization, catching fire when standing on the little fireplace, removing bandages and using food instead???, you don't really get a notification when you find the exit anymore, the mini-map looks worse (although i do like the minesweeper numbers they added), the mouse sensitivity is horrible and doesn't match up with in game and menu, the lobby making is weird in comparison to half dead 2, monsters now follow you into rooms, the game feels glitchy and the overall experience is that of an broken game. Super unpolished. Sad that it is such a downgrade from the other ones :( Now what I do like; they had removed sprinting in hd 2 and added it again in this one. some new rooms are pretty cool, but i wish they would've just added it to HD 2. conclusion: buy the first 2 games, it's a better use of your money and way more fun.
a dragon peed lava on me and i died
Half Dead 3 expands the series with more structured progression and layered challenge systems. Unlike its predecessors, which were primarily about learning through repetition, this entry introduces mechanics that give players more options — tools, abilities, and reactive gadgets that shift how you approach danger. The arenas feel larger and more intricate, with hazards that aren’t just traps but dynamic challenges that require strategy as much as observation. The evolution here is clear: this isn’t just more of the same. The added systems give players meaningful choices in how they navigate threats, and the pacing feels more intentional. While it may lose some of the raw, brutal simplicity of the originals, Half Dead 3 makes up for it with depth, variety, and a sense of progression that keeps you invested beyond mere repetition. It’s a fresh take on the formula that still honors the trap-heavy roots while expanding the boundaries of what the series can be. — The Ember Archives https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45601239/
Best game to play with friends. We all need the piss dragon in our lives <3
Somehow they managed to make it worse than the first two games, 100% do not recommend this one! Hell half dead 2 was significantly better and that one got very boring quickly. And for some unknown damn reason they decided to tie the mouse to the game itself and you cant change the sensitivity just for the main menu, it just flies across the screen when barely moving it. Barely any content to this one, barely any customization compared to the second one if you can even say that at this point. You can CLEARLY tell the devs were lazy and wanted to push a game out badly.
its alright if you played games during the early 2000s
