Since it doesn’t have a lot of reviews, I wished to share my opinion here, but still wanted to give you a heads-up to stop reading in case this is not your jam. I 100%’d Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ – Naked Butlers about three years ago and have been debating ever since if I should share my thoughts or quietly bury the memories. But here we are and let me start with the loudest PSA possible: do NOT, under any circumstances, go in blind. This isn’t your usual “oops I saw a spicy scene” VN. This one is hardcore, shocking, and occasionally so grotesque it might scar you for life. Some moments remain the most nauseating things I’ve ever seen in a game. So… fair warning delivered. I first picked it up during a BL spree, drawn in by the cute butlers and the quirky setup of housesitting a mansion where you give orders. Sound fun, right? Well, yes, until you realize those orders quickly spiral into the BDSM spectrum, from harmless dress-up to… stuff that makes you question your life choices. Personally, I gagged through certain scenes but genuinely enjoyed others. Credit where it’s due: the game nails expressions, atmosphere, and timing so well it sometimes feels too real, which can either be fantastic or stomach-churning depending on the route. There are over 20 endings plus one “true” ending, and the MC is an absolute sadistic maniac who goes on the biggest power trip after tasting a sliver of authority. It’s actually pretty satisfying to unlock some of the bad endings just to watch karma punch him in the face. That said, this is not a casual playthrough kind of VN: you need a guide. Some branches are ridiculously specific, and without quick saves you’ll be trapped skimming endless déjà-vu. For reference: I leaned on a guide for about 30% of the routes and it still took me ~34 hours to 100%. Overall, Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is a game that thrives on extremes. The butlers are cute, the outfits fun, and some endings had me laughing out loud. But it’s also dark, exploitative, and often disturbing. If you’re brave enough, there’s something compelling here, but seriously, read the content warnings and accept that this game is basically the ultimate “I regret my choices” simulator. Normally, I write up a list of pros and cons for a review but Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is such a transgressive and unconventional visual novel that it's...Hard for me to say what is a pro and what is a con because, quite frankly, what is a pro can also be a con. Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ at it's core is a dark sex comedy and it's also a rape fantasy game targeted at people with more sadistic tendencies. If that sentence alone turns you off (and for some reason, the warnings already didn't???) then this VN probably isn't for you. It feels as though Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is acting like a lighthearted (?) satire on BL from the 2000s (and even the 90s) that had a tendency to include a lot of non-consensual sexual acts that were heavily downplayed. In several of those stories, a character would get assaulted and even abused, act like it was no big deal, and would eventually wind up happily in love with the person who assaulted and abused them. Likewise here in Hadaka, you are MEANT to play as sadistically as possible in order to achieve a good ending. The endings where you demean, humiliate, and rape your love interests will net you a happily ever after where you get to stay in the mansion and be their sadistic master forever, whereas playthroughs where you treat this as a romance game and act sweet, gentle, and kind to your love interests will net you a bad ending (even if it FEELS like a happy ending.) It plays this up to a ridiculous degree which I think is to it's benefit. It takes really messed up situations but presents them in such an over the top and silly manner that it's hard to take completely seriously. As a result, it doesn't let the story get too dark and overwhelming. If you're looking for an in-depth and compelling story, you're not going to really find it here. There's bits and pieces of interesting writing and lore, but Hadaka's not going to win any awards for hiding a deep and meaningful story behind all the porn. The characters are also pretty surface level and each of them are assigned to a trope that they will stick to pretty rigidly. The story will make you laugh with it's absurdity, though there will also be times where it'll cross the line. (You'll definitely see the r slur tossed around a few times or the main character will act homophobic as a reminder that He's Not Actually Gay, he's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ these men because it makes him feel empowered or whatever.) There is also a concerning scene in Arisato's route that features some antiblack racism where [spoiler]you hire black bodyguards (that definitely could be drawn much better) where the main character and a side character discuss how they can't tell them apart because 'black people look the same.' These characters then get permission from the main character to rape the love interest of this route where an emphasis is put on them having huge ♥♥♥♥♥ because they are black.[/spoiler] By all accounts, Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ is an offensive mess at worse and an over the top goofy mess at best that doesn't really have much going on for it beyond seeing how weird the porn can get. However...There's just something about Hadaka ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that I've become endeared to. Is it the characters that I've grown attached to the longer I've spent time with them? Is it how it's so unapologetically itself that it's hard not to become enamoured by it? I don't really know. But I started Hadaka thinking "It's just going to be a bunch of shocking comedy porn" and leaving it genuinely happy to have experienced it and wanting to play Togo Mito's other works. I can't in good conscience recommend this game to really anyone unless they fully understand what they're getting themselves into. But if you think you can handle it...why not? I think it'd be a good time to spend a few hours every now and then getting through a route and enjoying the absurdity of it all. Just be sure to read the warnings before proceeding.
