Hacknet is an immersive, terminal-based hacking simulator for PC. Dive down a rabbit hoIe as you follow the instructions of a recently deceased hacker, whose death may not have been the accident the media reports.

Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.

Steps unclear: got nuclear launch codes instead of connecting to nonexistent databases
Weirdly engaging story despite only getting NPC interaction through text. Some parts are repetitive, but I feel like that's just... the feeling of hacking? You use tools most optimally to achieve a desired outcome as quickly as possible. It's short but satisfying. If you're not sure about it, go for a sale, but pick it up at some point and see how fast you can make your fake computer explode

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

I rarely ever take the time to write reviews for games I play on Steam. This game is a masterfully crafted adventure of exploring networks and solving puzzles to further your goal. There are multiple ways you can go about it and the game incentivizes doing things differently to complete your objectives. Very fun for a couple of bucks, made by two guys back in 2015.
I don't know anything about hacking, but this game let me pretend to for the better part of a day. It's short, but nicely polished and well worth the money, and the soundtrack absolutely slaps.
