Hacker News Reader

It's a content aggregator reader app for ycombinator that makes the site a bit easier on the eyes and it's free. Kind of like Reddit but slightly less hive-mindy and overjuiced kid hyper. I find the user comments on the articles much more articulate and thought out in general, and the app itself is very minimalistic. It’s a no frills set up with three content panes to browse and extremely simple options for settings. If you want to comment on an article you need to create an account, but to do so does not require any email or Google/FacePlant login. Despite the name, it's not really about hacking per se. It shows news articles around the world, both from major news sites and well-known niche blogs, most of it with a definite technology or business slant but occasionally has other entertaining stories like, "Medieval Wellness Tips" and “Trees, Teeth, and Time: The mathematics of clockmaking.” If you happen to be a news addict like me, work in technology/business or have an interest in either, you might enjoy having this app up on another monitor while you're waiting in a lobby to frag blueberries.
