About
Habit Puzzles is a humble habit tracking game that rewards each healthy step you take by granting the next piece in a mysterious jigsaw puzzle. Unlike other gamified habit trackers, Habit Puzzles eschews artificial progression (such as points and leveling) and instead, taps into the intrinsic reward of gradually satisfying your curiosity. Habit Puzzles also seeks never to be overwhelming or promote overwork—it only provides positive reinforcement, and doesn't store any more data than it has to in order to remind you when it's time to do your time-sensitive chores again.

This is such a genius idea. The tutorial is very helpful. The writing is great, with humor and encouragement woven throughout. The concept behind this game is to help the player develop healthy habits. It's a creative way to get to do lists done, and practice self care. Players can customize their habits, making the game personal and relevant. For each task accomplished the player gets a new puzzle piece. The puzzles are original photographs and some cool public domain artwork. The game is complex and multilayered. I can see how this would be fun for kids that struggle to accomplish anything unless it involves gaming. I encountered a few bugs, but not bad considering this is the first day it was released. Buy it you won't regret it!
This game is a really cleaver blend of habit-building while putting together a puzzle. It kept me staying more on track with my habits and with each task I crossed off, it would reveal another hidden option that I didn't know or could use when I started. Pomodoro timer, scheduling tasks or habits as recurring or one time, chunking a large task into 100 small pieces....you name, this has it. I thought there was some kind of error in their system, but there wasn't, it was my novice mistake. I enjoyed putting the puzzle together as I knocked tasks off my list and kept up with my habits. They even will suggest some for you that you wouldn't even think of.

I've been following this project since it was a demo on Itch.io, and I got to say, I'm glad to see it's coming along nicely! The creator is vary attentive, and open to suggestion. I suffer from executive disfunction, and this is one of my favorite ways to get things done!
Really clever and with a lot of depth to the kinds of tasks and habits you can make, with differentiation in how things repeat (like i LOVEEE there's a difference between something happening on every MONDAY vs something happening every 5 days) breaking things into smaller steps, etc etc - honestly all things that I find lacking in other game-ified habit trackers. And while a lot of game-ified habit trackers feel overwhelming, this one's to the point! It feels good to take a lil break and get your puzzle piece.
I never thought I would port over my library of to-do lists and project trackers to a game on Steam. But here I am. There's a lot more to Habit Puzzles than what you see running through the tutorial. It's powerful. And the tone of everything is a little more fun that the typical boring task trackers we're forced to use. I love the playfulness of the tutorial and how that feeling continues throughout.
A great executive function and habit aid! I definitely prefer the simplicity and modularity of this system over other baloney probable data-miner focus apps. This is a foundational tool that's effortless to boot up and use but offers loads of options, functions, and customization, all without jumping over your digital boundaries. Tutorial was cute and I loved the twist at the end. There's a couple edits I would suggest, like inserting margins for text boxes for readability, and additional tutorials to explore if you're interested in further customizing your experience. The puzzles are extremely cool- Neuroscience Sketches was wild (is that Camillo Golgi of THE GOLGI APARATUS?)
This is so amazing! Earning puzzle pieces has been a huge motivator for me. This has helped me to get stuff done around that house that I've been putting off for quite a while. I get so excited to earn puzzle pieces that I added more items to my list. I'm getting so much done! Love the photos by Trent Nelson too!
this is a great little tool for building healthy habits and clearing out your to-do list. the tutorial is really cute and charming. very refreshing in a world of extreme instant gratification and dopamine addition
all my homies hate maximizer crunchmode.
I've enjoyed different game-ified habit trackers, but have found some to be overwhelming and inflexible. This one's interface feels intuitive to interact with, and I like how easy it is to refine the frequency, importance, and/or number of steps in a habit. I absolutely recommend the tutorial. It has a fun and cheeky storyline, and I found it helpful to gradually learn about and try different functions. One of my favorite things about this game is its emphasis on pleasure over productivity. The positive reinforcement of collecting puzzle pieces works much better for me than the negative reinforcement of some nagging push notification. I *love* that you can generate a list of the tasks you've completed. I often feel discouraged if I don't complete an entire to do list, so it's nice to be reminded that I have in fact accomplished something, however small. There's also a great amount of flexibility in which tasks are displayed on screen, and having the option to focus on one thing at a time is very soothing to my anxious mind. While most of the habit trackers I've tried emphasize self-care to some degree, it's refreshing how authentic and embedded into the fabric of the game it feels here. The option to give yourself recurring rewards is not a function I've encountered in other games of this ilk, and I *love* that doing something nice for yourself is also treated as an accomplishment.
