Its retro, and as the dev stats on the title page a challenging homage to the 80's. It has a nice melodic background music. Its bloody hard and will take a lot of gameplay to beat. Nice.... and bloody hard. The main character is Dwaine, a brother from another motha, or in this case a planet where guns grow on tree's or at least pods for Dwaine.... and the guns are big, but you need tons of bullets to knock most opponents out.. other weapons are available. which you accumulate on beating levels .... beating bosses, which then makes other levels beatable. With card drops and achievements, for a few bucks its a blast, literally ...
Simply abysmal. I'm so, so sorry. It's the polar opposite of Shovel Knight: The graphics are mediocre at best, the music is subpar, and the controls... God, the controls. Everything is slippery and jumps don't quite work sometimes, especially wall-jumps, which is a real problem when you have three hits and three lives. Take Mega Man, squish the total screen area down but keep the jump difficulty, remove Rush, and then play with a damaged NES controller, and you've basically got GunWorld.

This is a retro-ish 8bit stylised platformer game. Pros: - well, it actually looks nice, reminds me of some old games - additional guns are interesting Cons - this game is very hard, maybe not like NES Silver Surfer like hard but still hard - only three energy bars and no health pickups - only three lives with no secret lives - someone pointed this out neatly - enemies are bullet sponges - there are maybe 10 different enemies not counting bosses - the game is marketed as having references to old games, movies and memes - I haven't found many of such references except the phrase "all your guns are belong to us" and "your guns are in another castle" - this game is just doing it wrong. Maybe a good example of difficulty vs. playability would be helpful - in Flimbo's Quest for C64 you were able to beat levels one to three without breaking any sweat, levels four to six were demanding and last levels were just plainly hard. This is how to scale difficulty. I actually wanted to beat those hard levels in Flimbo's Quest. Here? I just watched the whole playthrough oon YT just to see bosses. I cannot recommend this game. It's hard but not rewarding. Don't be fooled by nostalgic feeling of graphics, check some gameplays first and see how many times you need to shoot at a simple enemy like pink blob. This is just tedious. ---------- For anyone interested in joining in on completing your own backlog; check it out here - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/completingthebacklog/discussions/5/530645446320364338/
3 lives and 3 hits per life. Almost no health pickups (I played for 30 minutes thinking there weren't any before I found one). Checkpoints are almost non-existent. Bosses are bullet sponges. I can appreciate a game that is difficult if making progress feels rewarding. Any time I made progress in this, the reward is that I get a little closer to not playing it anymore. After beating the jungle stage and unlocking a new gun, upon entering the next stage I didn't have the gun anymore. The save function and achievements are broken as well. It's just not fun at all.
This is a retro-ish 8bit stylised platformer game. The concept of the game is just a no. It defeats the purpose of the entire game. Pros: - well, it actually looks nice, reminds me of some old games - additional guns are interesting Cons - this game is very hard, maybe not like NES Silver Surfer like hard but still hard - only three energy bars and no health pickups - only three lives with no secret lives - someone pointed this out neatly - enemies are bullet sponges - there are maybe 10 different enemies not counting bosses
Well, I'd love to have something good to say about that one, but playing the first few levels was a so tedious that i can't imagine it becoming any better later on (not that it would be an excuse anyway). Let's get the gimmick out of the way first, this "plant seeds to grow guns" part is just a more cumbersome way to reload and count ammunition. It's just slow and inefficient, there's no redeeming quality or reason to it. It's just there independently of making any sense gameplay-wise. Controls are sluggish, guns feel extremely under-powered, jumping/platforming is plain bad. Everything feels slightly wrong. Not terrible, just wrong enough to get in the way of my enjoyment. As other reviewers have noted the difficulty curve is also all over the place, more often than not bordering on unfair. And, as with most cheap bundle games, you can't rebind keys, making the game unusable on non qwerty keyboards without fiddling with Windows' settings. Gamepad works okay, but it's not really an excuse in itself. Add a very uninspired level design to the mix, bad audio and sub-par graphics (yes even by "retro" standards) and there's not much else to say about it.
As conquistas não funcionam e não pretendem corrigir/fazer funcionar.
