Guardians of Greyrock is a freemium turn based CCG/cardgame much like Magic: The Gathering or Hearthstone, but oh so nowhere near as good. The cardgame aspects are largely overridden by a badly planned dice rolling RNG method that removes a lot of player agency and skill from the game. Much the same as MTG and Hearthstone, the interface here is so simplistic it could be done in a browser. For that reason it's appropriate the core game is ostensibly free, but there's a bizarre amount of overpriced P2W DLC here. Even though this is free, so are other competing CCGs and they've done a far better job. I can't recommend this against the better, less P2W free competition.
Reçu gratuitement. Moi, j'aime bien. I got it for free. And I can tell I like it.

The shop page calls it a "tactical, turn-based high-fantasy adventure card game like no other"... but I'd rather call it a
tedious luck-based bullshit of a bore-fest not worthy to be called a "game"
... that would be actually better, if it were fully automated, so no one has to sit through this slog. It feels automated anyway; every player input leads to a random outcome. I was only there to click the mouse button and nothing else. At least this pointless bullshit is free, unlike the DLC, which is admittedly cheap, but still pointless: The card packs add just more of the same aside from a few new pictures, and the dice packs add several nice dice each, but you can't use more than one dice set anyway - so what's the point except that you pay for nice garbage DLC for a free garbage "game"? Do you like rolling dice without rhyme or reason until some overly simple simpleton-rules say you won? Like in e.g. Parcheesi? Do you like to "play" "games" that are 99% luck and require no brain or skill whatsoever? Do you also think that just because you get to decide between 2+ ways of how to roll your die it's suddenly a "tactical" "strategy" "game"?
Then Guardians of Greyrock is for you, you stupid moron!
... unless you like this, because you're an actual child; sorry then, you're not a moron... For children it's fine to like this tedious bullshit.
My Experience Although the game was certainly too expensive when it first released, I added it to a list of games to keep on my radar in case it ever went on a large sale. Shortly afterwards, likely due to the deluge of complaints developer MythicWare received about the price, the game went free-to-play. This is as good as sale as I could've hoped for, so I gave the game a spin. And actually, I had fun with it. While there weren't as many options as I might've preferred for how to approach the game's challenges, I found the card and dice aesthetic to be charming. I played through an adventure in one sitting, and the time flew by. Unfortunately, the developers seem to expect players to find the experience compelling enough to purchase card packs to expand the game's world, and I can't say I felt this way after playing. However, I was glad to have played through an adventure, and would recommend it to anyone who thinks they might enjoy a fantasy board game.

Before I played Guardians of Greyrock, I had a small pp, no friends, no gf, depression, and no life. These things havent changed, but the game is pretty good
I can't speak to all the drama around this game, but now that it's free, I'd say it's definitely worth a try at that price. Even all the dlc is only $15, if you do enjoy it and want to get some more things. The gameplay is pretty tough, but I'm not very familiar with these types of game so I blame it on my lack of skill. I could definitely see myself playing a few more matches of this and getting at least a few hours of entertainment. Reminds me a bit of Pathfinder Adventures.
