About

In GROUND BRANCH, you will play as the elite paramilitary arm of the CIA's Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group (SAC/SOG) and lead other special operations forces through challenging deniable ops all over the globe. With deliberate, calculated and unforgiving gameplay, GROUND BRANCH aims to be the true rebirth of the tactical realism genre of the late '90s and early 2000s. Powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GB puts the "tactical" back in "tactical shooter" — no compromises.
GROUND BRANCH's unique True First-Person System improves world immersion and awareness of your surroundings, providing zero disconnect between your view and your character's physical presence in the environment. See your foot sticking out of cover? Better tuck it in — enemies may be able to see it (and shoot it) too, but only if their line of sight and muzzle are verifiably unobstructed. Cameras are placed at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle. Managing your height over bore when shooting around obstacles or aiming for precision in CQB is critical. In GROUND BRANCH, what you see is what you get.
A minimal HUD with multiple optional elements ensures that vital information is available, but never a constant obstacle to either immersion or your field of view.

Say goodbye to pre-defined kits and fully customize your character. From gear, basic appearance, and outfit, to in-depth vest and weapon platform customization, down to individual pouch and attachment placement. What you bring to your mission is determined by your loadout choice, which carries realistic consequences: with the encumbrance and stamina system, too much equipment will impact your character’s speed and performance; place a scope too forward on the rail and your sight picture will be too small; bring a long rifle into CQB and weapon collision may prove a hindrance.
Forget unlocks, microtransactions and loot boxes. Ground Branch operators get all the right tools for the job straight away — courtesy of the Agency.
Whether in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, GROUND BRANCH’s unforgiving gameplay makes careful and calculated teamwork essential. Gather your teammates and practice in full-featured training areas, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and a killhouse with multiple floor plans. Integrated VOIP with both 3D positional voice and team radio ensures full communication capabilities with no need for third-party software. Text chat and pre-recorded voice messages (commo rose-style) are also available for the mic-less and the shy.
Prefer single-player? Missions with friendly A.I. and a full command system are planned for the future.
In the tactical shooter realm, movement and weapon handling are king. Take full control of your character with standing, crouching and prone stances, each with multiple movement speeds. Unique weapon postures (including low- and high-ready), leaning, free-look (head movement independent from aim), and optional and customizable free-aim (dead zone) put every part of your movement in your hands. Add dedicated mouse sensitivity sliders for point-shooting, unmagnified, and magnified aiming, and highly configurable key binding options.
You can also alternate between default actions of certain controls, such as whether a bolt action operates itself after firing or requires another click to operate.

⏳ GROUND BRANCH's unique "campaign" format will deliver smaller, more localized sets of missions based around global hotspots, with a centralized intelligence interface to monitor them and receive new mission orders over time. The choices you make along the way may affect future engagements.
☑️ Based on unique environments all over the world, the non-linear mission and map designs offer multiple entry points and open-ended outcomes.
☑️ Enemies are spawned at mission start, with a degree of randomization to quantity and location. No "monster closets" or magic enemy spawns based on player location or mission progress.
☑️ Ready Room: A physical multiplayer lobby where you can plan your approach, see your teammates' loadouts, test weapon configurations on a firing range and jointly select insertion points.
☑️ Full and 100% free dedicated server support. Host a server wherever you want!
☑️ Unit patches that can be attached to your character's sleeves and gear.
⏳ Full support for MP ladders.
☑️ After-action review (AAR) following each mission/round.
☑️ Server-side options.
⏳ Full mod support.
☑️ No item unlocking, hit markers, kill confirmations or score pop-ups.
⏳ Weapon bracing/supporting.
☑️ Varied arsenal: Multiple handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles and explosives to choose from, with a full suite of optics and attachments to complement them.
☑️ Map variation: In addition to day and night versions as well as weather variation, maps have small details that can change between rounds, such as doors and windows that may be open, closed or blocked.
☑️ Unlimited loadout save slots.
☑️ Item sharing/dropping/pickups.
☑️ Accurate ballistics with penetration, bullet drop and stopping power simulation.
⏳ No regenerating health or health packs: Administer first aid to non-lethal injuries that would further reduce combat effectiveness if not treated.
⏳ Location damage model: Expect visible injuries and consequences, such as limping, reduced arm function, and/or hits to stamina and accuracy. Players immobilized from a non-lethal injury can stay in the fight.
⏳ Drag teammates to safety to administer first aid – or to safely recover their ammo, gear, or cargo.
☑️ Appropriate and realistic playable female characters.
☑️ Partial controller support (configurable).

1.0 is a fking joke i love this game truly but you saying you made AI "realistic" yet it still has aimbot in pitch darkness, has more health than the player and half of the time you die you get tapped by a dude you cant even see. The campain or whatever mode you added is mediocre at best nothing new or interesting. Overall i wouldnt recomend this as much as it pains me this 1.0 is a complete fail i hope yall get your bs together and all deliver in the upcoming updates
THIS GAME HAVE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOWN BECAUSE HAVE A BIG ASS IN ONE DAY
Finding a server can be difficult at times. Especially during off-peak hours, the active player count is quite low, making it hard to find the game mode you actually want to play.
Truly no limit to the larp.
good game
Super fun
Tip of the spear!
This is our best choice in this genre. It broadly showcases the basic style and core elements of this type of game (a certain million-seller game is excluded from discussion because it doesn't fully fit the definition of this genre and completely betrays its original vision — my playtime proves I'm qualified to say this). It has established some of the fundamental characteristics of this genre. Although the game's completion is only around 60%, it has proven, with its limited content, that this genre has a bright future. The recent and upcoming higher-frequency updates show that development is still on track, and they guide players toward embracing the essential elements of this genre — teamwork and patience. While the game still has many issues and missing content, given its full embrace of the community, it remains the best among its competitors. I highly recommend that interested like-minded new players jump in and bring along friends to fully experience the game's appeal. Recently I've noticed that the V1.0 (V1036) update has received polarized reviews. The "V1.0" designation is indeed highly controversial and doesn't suit the current version. This update doesn't represent that the game is largely complete, and it has failed the expectations of those who didn't know the full context, leading to misunderstandings and a wave of dissatisfaction. But I hope everyone can try to stay calm and pay attention to what the studio said: "V1.0 is a beautiful new beginning, not the end. This update marks the arrival of a massive amount of follow-up content coming soon, to reach the height this game deserves." If we stop fixating on the "V1.0" label, this update is undeniably an exciting declaration. Moreover, the commercial decision to label it as "full release" was made by MICROPOSE — BLACKFOOT is merely the executor and had no decision-making power. This has directly put the studio under intense pressure recently, with limited staff working overtime every day, doing their utmost to rush out content — this is basically not the studio's fault, but rather a flawed and unwise business decision. We shouldn't direct our criticism at the studio, but rather at the business operators, and try to avoid following the same path as VOID. As for the content: In the past couple of days, some people have made malicious statements, taking things out of context to disparage GB in order to prop up their favored game. I reviewed some of that content and found that these people barely have any real experience with the game's updated content — they seem eager to find fault without even playing the game, picking out a few non-critical issues to dismiss GB entirely, which has negatively influenced some players. I'm not sure if other game studios are behind or supporting this, but I have nothing but contempt for these despicable tactics. With over 60 hours of experience with the V1036 content since the DEV phase, and enough total playtime, I believe I'm qualified to share my views. Here's my take on V1.0: First of all, don't compare this update's scale to that of a conventional full-release game update — that's clearly a misguided business decision. Please don't direct your judgment in inappropriate directions. The amount of content in V1.0 is unprecedented in this game's recent history: multiple beautifully crafted new maps (with ready rooms), significantly improved graphics that enhance immersion, preliminary implementation of motion capture results, sound system updates, greatly diversified AI faction assets and faction-specific AI voice updates, mission-related voice lines and partial entry cutscenes, weapon updates, updates that make AI behavior more natural, broad compatibility with mods from the previous version (which clearly sets it apart from a certain competitor), character asset updates, the much-anticipated story mode updates, game mode updates, HUD and UI updates, gameplay mechanic updates (a major highlight being the armor system), and moon phase system updates. This update essentially semi-forces players to cooperate as a team, think through tactical considerations with real-world logic, so I recommend bringing a few friends along to fully enjoy the charm of the V1.0 update. This update does have many issues: PiP causing unacceptable performance drops, excessive memory usage, worsened optimization (which wasn't as obvious in the DEV version), AI still behaving unrealistically and detrimentally in some behavioral logic and mechanics (such as target acquisition, certain reactions when entering combat, close-range shooting behavior and accuracy), and building clipping issues... These problems do warrant attention and do affect the experience, but most of the clearly impactful issues will be fixed in the upcoming hotfixes, and these problems can't overshadow the excellence of the V1.0 update. V1.0 is still worth recommending for those interested in getting into the game. I hope GB can become more widely known among players through this official release, gain visibility and exposure, and keep getting better in the future.
For me personally counts the 1.0 release as one of the biggest gaming disappointments in this year. A 1.0 used to mean that a game had reached “Gold Status.” Ground Branch is currently very far from gold and apparently will never reach it. I'm definitely never going to buy EA games from BlackFoot Studios and MicroProse again. Thanks for nothing after all these years.
