About

In GROUND BRANCH, you will play as the elite paramilitary arm of the CIA's Special Activities Center/Special Operations Group (SAC/SOG) and lead other special operations forces through challenging deniable ops all over the globe. With deliberate, calculated and unforgiving gameplay, GROUND BRANCH aims to be the true rebirth of the tactical realism genre of the late '90s and early 2000s. Powered by Epic's Unreal Engine 4, GB puts the "tactical" back in "tactical shooter" — no compromises.
GROUND BRANCH's unique True First-Person System improves world immersion and awareness of your surroundings, providing zero disconnect between your view and your character's physical presence in the environment. See your foot sticking out of cover? Better tuck it in — enemies may be able to see it (and shoot it) too, but only if their line of sight and muzzle are verifiably unobstructed. Cameras are placed at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle. Managing your height over bore when shooting around obstacles or aiming for precision in CQB is critical. In GROUND BRANCH, what you see is what you get.
A minimal HUD with multiple optional elements ensures that vital information is available, but never a constant obstacle to either immersion or your field of view.

Say goodbye to pre-defined kits and fully customize your character. From gear, basic appearance, and outfit, to in-depth vest and weapon platform customization, down to individual pouch and attachment placement. What you bring to your mission is determined by your loadout choice, which carries realistic consequences: with the encumbrance and stamina system, too much equipment will impact your character’s speed and performance; place a scope too forward on the rail and your sight picture will be too small; bring a long rifle into CQB and weapon collision may prove a hindrance.
Forget unlocks, microtransactions and loot boxes. Ground Branch operators get all the right tools for the job straight away — courtesy of the Agency.
Whether in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, GROUND BRANCH’s unforgiving gameplay makes careful and calculated teamwork essential. Gather your teammates and practice in full-featured training areas, including shooting ranges with dynamic targets and a killhouse with multiple floor plans. Integrated VOIP with both 3D positional voice and team radio ensures full communication capabilities with no need for third-party software. Text chat and pre-recorded voice messages (commo rose-style) are also available for the mic-less and the shy.
Prefer single-player? Missions with friendly A.I. and a full command system are planned for the future.
In the tactical shooter realm, movement and weapon handling are king. Take full control of your character with standing, crouching and prone stances, each with multiple movement speeds. Unique weapon postures (including low- and high-ready), leaning, free-look (head movement independent from aim), and optional and customizable free-aim (dead zone) put every part of your movement in your hands. Add dedicated mouse sensitivity sliders for point-shooting, unmagnified, and magnified aiming, and highly configurable key binding options.
You can also alternate between default actions of certain controls, such as whether a bolt action operates itself after firing or requires another click to operate.

⏳ GROUND BRANCH's unique "campaign" format will deliver smaller, more localized sets of missions based around global hotspots, with a centralized intelligence interface to monitor them and receive new mission orders over time. The choices you make along the way may affect future engagements.
☑️ Based on unique environments all over the world, the non-linear mission and map designs offer multiple entry points and open-ended outcomes.
☑️ Enemies are spawned at mission start, with a degree of randomization to quantity and location. No "monster closets" or magic enemy spawns based on player location or mission progress.
☑️ Ready Room: A physical multiplayer lobby where you can plan your approach, see your teammates' loadouts, test weapon configurations on a firing range and jointly select insertion points.
☑️ Full and 100% free dedicated server support. Host a server wherever you want!
☑️ Unit patches that can be attached to your character's sleeves and gear.
⏳ Full support for MP ladders.
☑️ After-action review (AAR) following each mission/round.
☑️ Server-side options.
⏳ Full mod support.
☑️ No item unlocking, hit markers, kill confirmations or score pop-ups.
⏳ Weapon bracing/supporting.
☑️ Varied arsenal: Multiple handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles and explosives to choose from, with a full suite of optics and attachments to complement them.
☑️ Map variation: In addition to day and night versions as well as weather variation, maps have small details that can change between rounds, such as doors and windows that may be open, closed or blocked.
☑️ Unlimited loadout save slots.
☑️ Item sharing/dropping/pickups.
☑️ Accurate ballistics with penetration, bullet drop and stopping power simulation.
⏳ No regenerating health or health packs: Administer first aid to non-lethal injuries that would further reduce combat effectiveness if not treated.
⏳ Location damage model: Expect visible injuries and consequences, such as limping, reduced arm function, and/or hits to stamina and accuracy. Players immobilized from a non-lethal injury can stay in the fight.
⏳ Drag teammates to safety to administer first aid – or to safely recover their ammo, gear, or cargo.
☑️ Appropriate and realistic playable female characters.
☑️ Partial controller support (configurable).

бесконечный долгострой не оправдывающий ожиданий, норм кастомизация только с нестабильными модами, а вес игры поднялся каким-то хуем до 100
Absolute DOG water. If You want a game that Ground Branch prommised for OVER A DECADE, play Operator. These guys are clowns. I've waited over A DECADE, and have been served ♥♥♥♥.
Whether or not you like this game will depend on your perspective, if you want to see this as a tactical shooter with deep story or engaging progression, you probably won't enjoy it that much. I personally like to see this game as like a tactical sandbox where you can make your own combat scenarios and stories with the equipment, configurations, maps and mods the game gives you access to. Though, even without the made up scenarios, it can be fun to just shoot bad guys sometimes with no reason other then having a good time or practise. The games gunplay and gun customization is phenomenal , i haven't seen any other games like it and its a 10/10 in my book The enemy ai is abit clunky at times, but they get the job as threats done well enough The graphics, while not earth-shatteringly good, are pretty nice, and the more foilage dense maps look really pretty. The gun models also look really good! Character customization is enough , could use a few more outfits and accessories, but i think its fine as it is. CQB in this game feels abit odd at times, i think its because the arms of your character react erratically when in tight spaces sometimes. Enemy VA can get abit repetitive at times, i think they should implement a small amount of new voice lines to each enemy reaction, like add 2 more different voicelines to terrorists reacting to their allies being dead, as it would make it less repetitive and make them feel abit more alive. Also, the enemies need more then just 1 VA per faction , as it feels odd when you hear the same voice coming from multiple different people of the same faction. One issue i genuinely don't like about the game is high FOV and pistols. When ADSing with pistols with high FOV, they will seem abit far away, and it can make it abit weird trying to aim them. Primaries don't seem to have this issue. If you want something abit more structured with a deep story, i'd recommend Ready or Not, if you want something with a feeling of progression, i'd recommend Incursion Red River. And if you want a tactical sandbox, i'd recommend this game
8 years in EA for what? Not 1.0 ready
I've owned this "game" since 2021. It has received like...a few big updates. It still runs like jelly, stutters constantly (I've switched to completely brand new builds 3 times since then), the AI are still completely brain dead terminators, and still randomly yell whatever they are doing, whenever they become aware of you. Could you imagine throwing a grenade at someone and before doing so, yelling grenade (25 feet away, in the same building), simultaneously telling me to go around a corner, and also where the enemy is? The AI walks into walls, their limbs stick through, the maps are boring. The concept of a mission doesn't really exist. This company is doing an even worse version of what VOID Interactive did, because at least Ready Or Not is interesting. This 1.0 is basically them throwing in the tunnel for some last ditch cash, so they can sail away and continue not finishing the game, but while being wealthier! If you asked me to tell you what was new in the game since I bought it, all I could tell you is I think they added NVGs...or tweaked them...or something...4.5 years ago. This "game" is vaporware. It's a tech demo and has become a progressively less impressive one. Operator is a better game than this in just about every way and was made by one guy and it costs half as much. Get bent BlackFoot and MicroPose.
I have never seen a game go backwards with the 1.0 release. The game was FAR better in early access. Don't waste your money. The game gives you no control over mission planning like they used to, and there are many more bugs than there used to be. It's no longer fun. I used to love this game when it was in early access.
It's funny cause they say 1.0 but what they mean is 0.1
Ground branch is the only game that scratches my Ghost Recon itch. This is my first Steam review, and it is going to be a long one because I am going to start at the beginning. And don't worry, at the end I won't say that RON or Operator is better than Ground Branch. Ground Branch is better than RON (especially when Ground Branch is finished) I never played Operator, so I can not say which one is better. The original Ghost Recon game that came out in 2001 was my first shooter. I read about it in a PC games magazine. For the kids that read this now, this was a magazine that came out once a month and was delivered to my house by a mailman. We had internet, but we were only allowed to use it for homework. So the magazine was my only way of knowing about games that came out. I read the preview and still had to wait one year for the release, and then I had to wait a couple of months for my birthday when I finally got the game. I remember myself as a kid playing the campaign. It took me several tries to finish a mission because whenever I lost a squadmate, I restarted the mission. Only halfway through the campaign my dumb ass learned about quick save and quick load. I enjoyed sneaking through the missions and finding the best way to tackle the objectives. Since then, I have been hooked on tactical shooters. In 2003, rainbow six 3: raven shield came out, and I enjoyed it a lot. Planning the missions, blowing up doors, and now I could see a first-person weapon! Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six 3 are the games that I measure all tactical shooter games against. After 2003 no serious tactical shooter came out that could compete with them. Especially not whatever happened to the Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six franchise. (So you can say that I have been waiting for a game like Ground Branch since 2003.) No games came close to my experience with GR and Rainbow Six, I still play and enjoy them. I play other tactical shooters like RON and GZW, but the gunplay, gun handling and customization options do not come close to Ground Branch. Both games feel a bit arcadey in comparison. I started looking for a more modern game that came close to GR and Rainbow Six games, and in 2014 I learned about Ground Branch, and in 2015 I played the first tech demo and was impressed. I followed the development of the game ever since. Development is very slow, every time a new update came out, I played it for a couple of hours and then let it rest again. Since the start of development, I bought a house, got married and changed my career. (Yes, all of this took me a total of more than 10 years) Now what the dev team calls 1.0 is out. It is not 1.0 because the game is not finished. It is more like a 0.75. There is still stuff to be done. The AI needs tweaking, more missions have to be added, and friendly AI is still not in the game. But this game scratches my Ghost Recon itch. A big leap was made in this update. We now have 2 campaign missions with voice-over briefing and the beginning of a storyline. The AI is improved and now run for cover as I try to shoot at them. I just played the first campaign mission, and it is the game that I want it to be. I got killed a couple of times and had to restart the mission. I felt like a little kid again playing Ghost Recon. I can not wait to play the missions with a team of friendly AI. Or just a team of friends :( Ground Branch is not finished, so if you want to have a full game don’t buy it now. If you have a Ghost Recon itch like me, or you are looking for a serious tactical shooter, you can go for it now and have a great time. The devs are clear about what comes next, and the game will only get better with updates that are still to come. The game runs great on my PC, for reference I add my specs to this review
1.0 needs a lot of work. enemies feel more like operators then the operators. couldnt get a steady sight picture on a poorly trained terrorist from 50 feet away with quad nods but he tapped me in pitch black darkness. inflated aimbot difficulty is not real difficulty. guess my ground branch operatives little arms were so tired from shouldering my rifle for more then 10 seconds. its a shame really ive had this game for a long time and was very excited for 1.0. guess ill come back with some updates and give it another chance.
