I played the demo of this game and became a tester for it as I was willing to record the whole game. I love this game. This game has the most fun marble physics in all the games I have ever played in this genre. You can gain a ton of speed but also quickly slow down, and you have great air control. I think it rewards you for mastering movement as you get to weave through obstacles or make crazy ricochets (wall-hits can be used to great advantage) consistently. There's also an element of pathfinding and shortcut finding as well, the great speed you can get is very often able to create some insane routes and skips. The game is great for people who like a challenge with challenge times, optional Time Travels to boost your score, leaderboards, and lots of extra levels. There's a great variety of obstacles and powerups too. I am kinda surprised the extra levels aren't factored into the total levels and chapters that this game has. I think the game will most appeal to people who like skill mastery of a mechanic. There's a few things that could be done to make the experience easier for new players though, I don't think they should start on Normal, they should start on Easy. [strike]Hitboxes are way *too* accurate and you often get surprised to miss them.[/strike] (fixed in a recent update!) There are checkpoints, but they can seem demotivating if you want to get a good time, because if you mess up once it can effectively add a lot of time and you'll get a worse score, even though you are very capable of getting a good time just by not making that one mistake. (Edit: Okay even that has been fixed with a recent checkpoint time rework.) Part of the mastery isn't just in skill, but noticing how the marble interacts (if you don't notice you could have more trouble than needed). For example when you jump and land, there will always be a bounce, and so there's a small amount of time where you cannot jump again because you are now in the air from the small bounce. It's often easier to hold jump so you won't have to wait until the marble stops its bouncing to go back to rolling. Also the music is wonderful, especially in Chapter 3, I cannot forget the melodies, it's unbelievable how good it is.
Great Marble Adventure is one of my new favorites. Inspired by the classic marble rolling 3d platformer games, this game is a blast (no pun intended) to play! It may look and sound dated, but don't be fooled, the gameplay is where it shines, with 230 levels ranging from tutorial levels to very difficult marathons. The gameplay curve is quite smooth, with so much content to challenge yourself with that there is always something to do and improve at. Whether you're beating harder and harder levels, getting faster times, or taking on the many challenges, there's something for everyone. Out of the many, many levels, there were only a handful that were a bit annoying. All of the rest are quite well designed and interesting once you get the hang of how to play. Highly Recommended!
A modern version of the classic Marble Blast Gold. The physics in this game allow for some fast and agile gameplay, and you feel like you have a lot of freedom when moving around the levels. The graphics are also a significant upgrade from the original MBG. Various environments throughout the game allow for an immersive experience that makes you want to keep playing!
Been a competitive marble gamer for around 4 years, and I can already say that this game is one of the most unique in the physics department. The levels might be a bit too long, but other than that speedrunning this game is really enjoyable. Theres endless posibilities in this game for strats/routes.
I've been speedrunning marble games for about 5 years and played almost every one of them. That said, this is probably the most fun feeling physics of any marble game I have played. Ultra fun powerful wall hits and tons of air control, which really makes this game pop compared to a lot of the competitors. I would highly recommend this game for beginners all the way up to the top tier marble speedrunners!
Just finished the first chapter with all red perfects. Having a great time so far. Normally a set of physics different to Marble Blast is super hard for me to get into or play comfortably, but this seems to be an exception which is an absolute delight for me. Game looks great, good variety of levels, and I'm having a blast. Well done.
I really enjoy the physics in this game, even though they're probably the furthest away from the original Marble Blast (PlatinumQuest in today's era). I don't feel like there's anything wrong with the physics like I felt with other marble games. If you are new to marble games, this is a great game to start off with. 100% worth the money
Fun IL marble game, was my introduction to the marble roller genre, gameplay is great, physics feel very responsive and fluid, game gets pretty damn hard too, although there's plenty of easier and intermediate levels to slowly ease toward doing the harder stuff. I wasn't overly keen on the graphics nor sound effects, but in this instance i think i can overlook them just based on how the game feels to play. Give it a try if you've never tried a marble game or have played similar games and want to see what marble games are all about :p
NaCl did a fantastic job on this, others have already states how great the physics feel, and I really couldn't agree more. It feels like you have so much more control compared to other marble games. Levels also come in 3 difficulties, which is a unique concept that I haven't seen anywhere else, and each of the difficulties change up the level to the point where they each feel different even if they technically are the same level. I'll definitely 100% this game, combination of its physics plus great levels makes this a must buy if you are a marble connoisseur .
